Maleware Warning: Do not use Trafficbroker
To warn all fellow webmasters: A couple of day ago I installed IM ads and Pop Under ads from Trafficbroker on 5 of my wordpress blogs and today I received an email from Google that my websites are being blocked because of maleware. What happened when Google visited this site? Of the 5 pages we tested on the site over the past 90 days, 2 page(s) resulted in malicious software being downloaded and installed without user consent. The last time Google visited this site was on 2011-08-23, and the last time suspicious content was found on this site was on 2011-08-23. Malicious software includes 2 trojan(s). Successful infection resulted in an average of 9 new process(es) on the target machine. Malicious software is hosted on 2 domain(s), including kennymccormick3.in/, m29m.in/. 2 domain(s) appear to be functioning as intermediaries for distributing malware to visitors of this site, including trafficbroker.com/, m29m.in/. Please bump this thread and let as many people as you can so they wont suffer like me |

				 | Google is pretty fast at fixing it once you get the offending code off and submit for review through webmaster tools.

				 | That fact that traffic broker emailed people suggesting that they pull traffic broker ads for now suggests that TB is a stand up company who will take care of it.

				 | Hi all, As adultwebmestar mentioned, TrafficBroker experienced a massive DDOS and several hacking attempts on August 6. As a result we have sent out e-mails to all of our publishers to remove all TrafficBroker.com ads until further notice. Furthermore, we have postponed all new registrations and no new accounts are being approved and allowed in the system. Since then we have been taking ample steps towards preventing this from happening in the future. We have been and still are undergoing massive system updates aimed at preventing this exact type of situation. As you can imagine we could have patched things up quickly and asked you to put the ads back again. We haven't done that. We understand that you rely on the loyalty of your bookmarkers and we, in turn, rely on your loyalty. We want to do our best to gain and keep that loyalty and for the past month that meant that we had to take a hard hit revenue wise. It wasn't cheap and it wasn't easy to turn down publishers and advertisers alike and we are investing a lot in securing the system. As the people from black label have mentioned also, it is impossible to prevent this 100% of the times and we have had the misfortune of falling into the 0.1% of those situations when an ill-intended person managed to slip malware past our noses. That person will never be allowed to use TrafficBroker again and for the rest who might try we are implementing these new measures. For the webmasters who have been using TrafficBroker.com ads since our announcement on Aug 6. We believe that we have the good fortune to be working with seasoned publishers who have the ability to decide for themselves what risks are acceptable for them. We have issued our recommendation and asked everybody to take the ads down, but TrafficBroker pays very well so I can understand why for some webmasters the risks outweighed the benefits. We do not and cannot control their actions. However, we will be paying for all traffic sent to us in this period. We are still committing all our resources towards a resolution to this problem and believe me, we will be the first to let all our publishers know when to put the ads back up.

				 | @TB Adriana I don't like the static of Trafficbroker because it does not give us information about impression/hits a website gets, so it makes it look shady. It is very easy to claim to be #1 Adult Ad Network but it is very difficult to be one. |

				 | They told everyone to pull ads 20 days ago. You come complaining now? Hardly shady with an advanced warning dont you think? If you dont like them dont use them.. |

				 | Either not everyone got/read the emails or they chose to ignore them. There's a couple of sites I've seen since yesterday that are flagged the same. |
