Party like rockstars in Vegas but don't pay your bills when you get home.

So many fucking schmucks in this business.... you know who you are.

It's just a fucking joke to see how people spend money at the show but are deadbeats, late pays and poor motherfuckers when they get home. All that glitter ain't gold! Affiliates need to wise up and not be so impressed with glossy advertising and free drinks.

Damn....I can name names of a few people like this. I am not gonna point any fingers either but it is amazing how loyalty can be bought for such a small investment.

There is nothing wrong with going the extra mile for your affiliates and or clients but when the day is done....The mortgage is still due.

Gotta run and return my pop cans now so I can pay my hosting bill.....

There are deadbeats in every business... though I think that when people are waiting to get paid from others to make their payments, it can lead to this totally fucked cycle that can bring an entire industry down.

Unfortunate, but would assume it frequently fucks everything up for most in the adult biz on different levels

I worked for magazines a lot before doing sites and that industry is waaaaaaay worse. There have been two times when an online employer paid me more than a year past due with kinda light checks and they were both publishers more known for their magazine stuff than their sites. I wish the internet like it is know had been around ten years ago.

Sigh, magazines.

Want to NEVER get paid? Try freelance writing for new publications.

Given their success rate, maybe 1 in 100 leads to a check.

Dude, I told you the hooker took my pants, wallet, shirt everything and left me tied ass-up on the bed. When I woke up the bitch was gone, luckily I paid for the dive hotel first, otherwise the situation could have been worse--the night clerk seemed a little turned on...I hope nothing happened before I woke up.

I had to catch a cab back to the hotel in some boxers, and the bitch had already cleaned the mini bar out and stolen everything that wasn't bolted down.

I'm still trying to collect enough funds to pay that damn hotel bill off.

I will get to the hosting bill when I can.

Actually, I've worked for all the major adult publishing houses and new magazines have no monopoly on that. Sometimes, I hate the more established ones way more because they expect you to be all thrilled to work for them and to really treat it like a job . . . until the time comes to pay the bill that is. The notable exception is Flynt. Those Hustler guys always pay the full amount they agreed to and pay on time, lots of times the check comes before you expect it.

What I've seen happen at trade shows in other industries is that people put on a dog and pony show hoping to generate enough business to pull their asses out of the fire. Every once in a while it works ... more often than not, it just makes them flame out faster.

if they don't pay, fuck em.

it's your own fault if you don't enforce your rules on them. if the company allows them to get away with it it's their own fault for being soft.

note: "your" is not pointing the finger at anyone specific.

No shit, you don't have to look far for that. The tech industry in the late 90's with $1,000 Aeron chairs, capuccino machines and options to feed the IPO frenzy. All of those guys are now serving the coffee down at Starbucks
