Google Panda Strikes Again

The google panda has struck again....
http://www.webpronews.com/google-pan...ew-one-2011-09

More websites reporting being wiped out, more business being destroyed, more people losing their job. Google is well on the way to setting up a total monopoly.

Lost a few positions on a couple of sites but gained a bit on others. But rather than sit here crying about it, it just makes me realise I need to work harder on making my sites better than my competitors.

The thing is that Panda is run manualy, and so far it has only been run against less then 20% of the websites on the net (so some people are saying and I tend to agree). So we have a long way to go on this. The focus of Panda has also up till now not really been on adult, but that will change as my understanding is there is a new Adult Filter google are working on and that may in effect wipe out %90 of adult business. Im hearing it will start running mid next year. I guess we can only wait.

google panda seems to like global backlinks and low bounce rates. Nothing else seems to matter.

and the quality of the google serps keeps going down.

If I do a search for kw1 kw2 kw3, I expect to get a list of pages that include all 3 keywords, not 1 page with kw1, 3 pages with kw2 and kw3 and six pages with synonyms of kw3 and no mention of kw1 and kw2.

Every single major site I owned which got whacked by panda is back as of yesterday except one which still has sponsor fhg descriptions. I noticed a couple coming back last week. Sunday and Monday should be all time record traffic days for me. The problem is I have no idea when Google plans to bitchslap me next.

I'm noticing it's a lot of people who tried too hard to perfectly seo optimize their sites on some extreme super white hat seo-ninja shit who are reporting drops.

anyone worth half their weight in salt as an seo already has made all the changes to their networks to benefit from "panda".

so saying "panda strikes again" is really, i suppose, mostly aimed at people who are not true seo professionals, as it would not be applicable or harm anyone who has already started using "panda" to their advantage instead of looking at it like a negative.

Many eggs, many baskets...

Having only one or two sites is suicide when having 20 or 100 is not much more work and allows you to stabilize your network, even in the face of change by outside forces.

That always seems to be the case. The Google trip said they make changes and adjustments about 500 times per year. Those changes are basically designed to stay ahead of the ninja SEO people and return URLs of GOOD web sites instead of pages from master manipulators of the algorithms. So if you take precise aim at one specific configuration of today's Google, don't be suprised if it doesn't precisely match tomorrow. Instead, for long term profit bulks good sites first, with text about a topic, then secondly make sure that a SE can see how good your page is. That's the long term view. It'll get you medium to excellent rankings that persist through tweaks that Google makes.

That doesn't mean you can't work your ass off to get a #1 ranking for "free porn", it just means you shouldn't be suprised if you jace tobkeep working your ass off, constantly adapting, to keep that coveted spot. You can do that and make good money. I prefer to build good pages that get rankings which are merely good, but remain good.

No. You have to make Google THINK that your sites are better than your competitor's sites. They don't actually have to be better, Google just has to think they're better.

A lot of posts here confirming the Google monopoly. They control all the traffic - and can do with it what they wish.

Panda has nothing to do with backlinks or bounce rate, Panda is a neural pathway, so it is incapable of counting backlinks or bounce.

The google algorithm on the other hand does count backlinks, bounce rate, but that wont do you any good if Panda has a problem with your website.

Been confirmed Panda 2.5 has so far only been run on the USA results...
http://blog.searchmetrics.com/us/201...sa-update-2-5/

Looks like some really big websites took a hammering. Looks like a lot of people are going to lose their jobs.

One thing that is very obvious is how Googles own properties keep gaining every time there is a Panda. These days youtube spams the serps.
