Google blacklisted domain

Is there a sure way to check if a domain is banned by Google?
It doesn't show up in google if i search for domainname.com.
The domain was registered in 2001 and had something up till 2005. Nothing after that date. Right now it do 301 redirect to a different domain.
Any way to be sure the domain is not blacklisted in google so i don't get screwed?

Thanks!

I wish it was that simple, but in some cases that works.

To see if the site is banned simply punch in on Google: site:domain.com
Anything less of first place is a flag.

What he said. Took me more than 2 month to get it un-banned.

I bought lots of domains that could be considered banned, ie. couple of years old, but no results on google for site:sitename.

I put some related content there, and went for Ask for reconsideration, with something like this: "Hi, I bought that domain at date.date, I am a new owner, content is new, whois copy paste, domain purchase date and proof from registrar etc".

All my domains got listed in couple of weeks, so really not much problem there.

Not always i think. If you remove your dns records from the domain and point to absolutely nothing, than google will de-list it. That doesn't mean it is banned.

you can get it unbanned, but it will never regain the benefits that a 2001 domain would otherwise had if it hadn't ever been banned, it will restart as like a new domain if they unban it

But how you get it unbanned exactly? What steps did you follow? How long it took actually?

Just change the content and then ask google to reindex it because owner changed? And all it takes solely depends on their lag response?

If you make a site on there that is quality they will allow it back Heard back from reconsideration requests in a couple of weeks.

What do you mean quality? If their engineers get boner then they will reconsider it?
