End of the Age of Oil (and war too!)

This is a follow-up to my Saddam rant.

Listen people, if you want to debate this topic you need to be informed.

Here is a video lecture by Dr. Colin Campbell, a leading expert in the oil and gas industry with a global reputation. The lecture is entitled "The End of the Age of Oil". It explains how we will enter a major shortage within the next decade and how this reality is driving the current geopolitics, such as the invasion of Iraq.

The first minute is in German but the rest is in English. It's an hour long. If you don't have time for it that's fine. But then don't go posting here (or anywhere) like ya know what your talking about.

Why am I even bothering with any of this? Well, I think that adult webmasters, who are the forefront of internet innovations, can band together and change the world!!! Or maybe not...

Why would I or anyone else want to spend an hour viewing something that is common knowledge. The fact that sources of fossil fuels are not finite and are dwindling is common knowledge.

What makes you think you know what you're talking about? What are your credentials? From all we know, you're just a porn webmaster hanging out on a porn webmaster board just like the rest of us. In addition to that, you're obviously a loser that has no life if you're going to sit around a porn webmaster's board for 2-3 days trying to convince porn webmasters that the "U.S. is just after the oil dudes."

Maybe we're going after saddam for the same reason we're giving billions to africa for aids. We have a christian humanitarian president who wants Jesus to judge him favorably. Does that sound naive?

You fuck with us, we fuck with you and take take your oil to boot.

Sounds good to me. If the penalty is losing your country and your oil, other mid east enteties might think twice about coming here and blowing up buildings. So far they have lost Afganistan and soon Iraq. Some day it may dawn on them trading countries for buildings is not in their best interest.

On 9/11 they murdered 100's of innocent people and destroyed a national treasure. If oil is the most treasured thing they have, I say lets take it.

I have an admission to make.. I *AM* GEORGE BUSH, current president of these here United States.

I am field-testing "truth" for my own amusement to aid in my strategery to dupe the mass populace. I figure that if anti-establishment porn webbies, who are sworn enemies of the republican party, reject the true agenda - then I HAVE MANAGED TO FOOL THE ENTIRE NATION!!!

Yeeehaaaa!! There is no stopping me now!!!

Didja notice in my State of the Union speech when I said that the 20th century saw the great evils of Communism, Militarism and "Hitlerism". Dija notice? Now who in the world ever uses the term "Hitlerism". Even my own speechwriters insisted that I use the term "Facism". But fuck that! I can't use the word facism because that would be a freudian slip. That's because I am a facist! Hee. Hee. Italian dictator Benito Mussolini once said, "Fascism should more properly be called corporatism, since it is the merger of state and corporate power." I think my Freudian choice of words was a message that Hitler screwed it up but that I'm going to get it right.

And it's not just those diaper-headed arabs that I am going to rule. Yes I will invade them. Yes I will take their oil. But I got good things in store for the American people as well. I got "Homeland Security". I got "The Patriot Act". I got the "Office of Information Awareness"..... hee. hee.

Okay. Maybe I'm not really George Bush. Maybe I'm just a porn webmaster. But dammit, the writing is on the wall!!!

Yes. But in other posts you yourself insist that the coming Iraq invasion has nothing to do with oil. This lecture very clearly elucidates that the invasion has EVERYTHING to do with OIL. It's not just about the depletion of fossil fuels. The lecture ties everything together, including the geopolitical reality.

if it wasn't for oil, iraq wouldn't have attacked kuwait and there would be no american invasion of iraq.

so in a way you are right, it was about oil, but it was iraq who was after it.

Yes but we're also after it. During the first gulf war, if anyone recalls, the New York Times ran article that exposed an unclassified Pentagon plan from the late 1970s that outlined, in meticulous detail, how American could establish an oil protectorate in the gulf. The pretext would be one arab state invading another, which the US could then use to intervene and establish a long-term military presence. And from this military presence, future invasions could be launched during times of "economic or political instability in order to maintain America's dominence of oil and gas supplies". The general plan has been in place for over 30 years. The specific plan to take control of Iraq, has been in place at least for the last 12 years. And the plan to turn America into a virtual police state to "protect us from those who hate our freedoms"..well who knows how long that was in the planning stage but it's just about here.

Save the Republic! Use yak butter instead of oil! Use Elmer's glue instead of KY jelly!!!

Don't have it handy but you could go to nytimes.com and so a search on the appropriate keywords in their archives. While you're at it, and if you are interested, pull up all the articles that talk about how we armed Iraq with chemical and biological agents even AFTER he gassed the kurds. The hypocracy is pretty thick.

I think there is God in your words... But how will God get so many to leave the mighty Empire State to till the land once? With such efficiency and so many not needing to work -- what will we do with our free time? The only answer I see is GFY for all... in other words -- Internet X. The X is the relevant, contemporary, modern, post-modern -- the future and past incorporated into one variable -- the love of God under one united tent, staked and rooted by fiber optic lines across all oceans -- penetrating into all places that need new and updated diversion... But the answer will always be -- return to yourself -- return to face-to-face -- return to your land -- return to your wives and children -- return to God and you will find safety.

Divulging your future intentions to fuck up the world is pretty cocky. And U know this info was intentionally released... I wonder what the motivations were... To see if the plan was fool-proof in advance? To wear down the enemy? Or maybe the Pentagon is just sloppy LOL... Not.

I am tired of people crying "the US is just after the oil"
People have said that about the last two wars and where proven wrong. Lets just say for a moment that it is about the oil, so what? Who is going to stop the US? Fuck it, lets take the oil and make the average american wallet even fatter.

Further more what is so hard to believe that sadam has violated post war resolutions, and needs to be disarmed by military force being that he hasnt been cooperative for the last dozen years? What is so hard to believe about the absolute zero tolerance of terroist activities? I dont think a dictator such as the one in Iraq who hates the united states with a passion needs to posses weapons of mass destruction.

Sure oil is a plus, but anyone who thinks that's the only reason for the war is a tree hugging fag. What about the thousands of murders and war crimes commited by Saddam?

The fact that Iraq shoots at US soldiers almost daily is enough reason to invade, go fuck yourself wonton.

Funny stuff really, being that Bush wants congress to pass a 1.2 billion dollar bill to invest towards hydrogen energy to replace the US demand for foreign fuel. If we where so concerned about oil dont you think they would already have it?

For the love of God, why cant people understand that since 911 the united states has vowed to prevent anything like that from happening again.

Dictator + Weapons of Mass Destrution + Known hate towards US = Not good for the interest of the US.

He doesnt even have to use them, he can supply them to terroist groups, which I might add there are investigations towards Iraqs ties with terrroist networks.

Oh wait I forgot, everything I read and watch and all my basic common judgements of logic are a implanted cover up by the secert goverment plan to take all the oil

You do not pay alot of attention do you. I have posted the post below in multiple threads. See reason number #7.

quote:

Reasons for war.

#1. Iraq was defeated on the field of battle and signed certain terms. Iraq has been in violation of those terms since they signed the terms in '91. The USA has demanded that those terms be complied with and that Iraq remain a defeated country.

#2. Iraq attempted to assasinate a former American President.

#3. Iraq has fired upon, almost daily, for almost 11 years, USA military forces.

#4. Iraq is believed to have, or are acquiring, or are attempting to acquire WMD's. The USA will not allow that.

#5. Iraq has, on multiple occassions called for Americans, to be killed where ever they are found. Thus they are a sworn enemy of the USA.

#6. Iraq is a strategic piece of real estate for future military operations against our enemies in the region, which number in the 100's of millions.

#7. Iraq is a strategic piece of real estate for its oil fields and for the surrounding oil fields, for as the worlds oil supplies dwindle the USA will be in a position to control the dwindling oil supplies for its use and the use of its European allies.

#8. A take over of Iraq sends a very powerful signal to the other countries in that area of the world that if they don't get their act together they will be next.

Any one of the reasons above is a reason for war. Combined they are a powerful reason for war.

i agree. without oil the middle east is meaningless to us.

we should be investing billions into new technologies to get us off relying on oil, not to go blow up some shit (which ultimately will be rebuilt and still hate our guts, so they'll war with our kids and our kids' kids...)

If the only thing the US wanted was oil they could have the UN ease the sanctions and then they could buy the oil from Iraq. After all when it's all said and done, the oil will still belong to Iraq.

If the inspectors were kidnapped tomorrow the world would A: Blame the US, and B: Refuse to beleive it even happened.

To those who know better, don't waste your time.
