USA's unbalanced checking account

This is so fucked up, the US overdrafting by $841 Million per day.

WASHINGTON - President Bush (news - web sites) is sending Congress a $2.23 trillion spending plan . . . . . Bush's budget blueprint for delivery Monday to Congress features record deficits ? $307 billion now and $304 billion for the next budget year, surpassing the old mark of $290 billion set by Bush's father in 1992.

Anyone else doing this would be in jail. I just don't comprehend how we tolerate our government to continuously sell out our children's future this way, cause they are the ones who will pay the price and interest for this obnoxious irresponsible spending.

No government should get away with this total lack of and disrespect for financial discipline.

I think the government should post a line item accounting report for everything we are spending $2 Trillion on also. That number just seems incomprehensible to me, and that it couldn't be managed better.

I thought Republicans believed in small government. Aren't the Democrats the ones who are always accused of spending lots of taxpayers money??

Republicans and Democrats don't seem all that far apart anymore on financial spending.

Reading about this, as a businessman, drives me stir crazy.

There is so much waste, fraud, corruption, overpaying in government it is beyond atrocious.

Why do we all sit back and year after year allow ourselves and our futures to be raped like this? Cause we are the ones getting the bill for all this irresponsibility.

Bill Clinton, even while getting a blowjob, delivered a balanced budget. After Bush goes out of office, either in two years, or in six years, then another Democrat will get elected, and hopefully he or she will have what it takes to clean up the mess left by Bush and his borrow and spend economics. Whether you agree with his policies or not, Bush is undeniably fiscally irresponsible.

This made me laugh. It is Bush that is eating the shit sandwhich left by Clinton. All the internet flops. All the accounting fraud that let to the worldcoms and enrons. The economy was turning to shit when clinton was still in office. Throw in 911 and its a tough task.

Bush deserves to be re-elected for having to eat that shit sandwhich.

Thats only one of the lies republicans like to make. Clinton reduced the federal govt to the smallest in 35 years, and had a federal SURPLUS of $237 BILLION in 2000.

Apparently republicans don't like small government, surpluses or peace.

Clinton cleaned up after Bush and Reagan and now someone else will have to clean up after the current Bush.

Here we are more than two years into Bush's term and talk radio hosts and talk radio listeners will continue to blame Clinton's penis for all of Bush's fiscal irresponsibility.

The funny thing is that they have the House, the Senate, and the White house, and still they try to blame Democrats. Some things never change.

Republicans want less government controls? You must have been out of the country for the last two years if you still believe that bit of propaganda.

Are you joking?

Republicans want to spend more money than Democrats, they just want to spend it on different things.

Bush just put through the biggest expansion of the federal government in decades. Not Clinton, he lowered the budget. Bush increased it by a huge amount. Where did he get the money? He's going to borrow it. He's going to put America into deep debt.

Clinton, the financially responsible one, was a Democrat. Bush, the financially irresponsible one, is a Republican.

I can't believe that people believe the opposite of what they see with their own two eyes just because they heard it on TV or the radio.

Amazing.

This is a funny thing in America. Everyone conveniently forgets that it takes congress AND the president to pass a budget. One can give credit to or blame whomever one wants.

I think one reason the deficit continues to grow is that no one individual or group has responsibility for the budget. If the deficit increases, one person blames the president, another congress.

For example, in 1999 the nearly .4% spending cut was a compromise between Republicans and Democrats/Clinton. Republicans proposed a 1% drop but Clinton called it "mindless and excessive". They settled on the smaller figure of .38%. Now whom do you want to credit? Republicans will credit congress. Democrats will credit the president.

You're a real economic and political genius, arent you.

The deficit isnt created by borrowing money, it is created when there is more money going out than coming in.

There were 'good paying burger jobs' in the Clinton era because he created the lowest unemployment rate in 30 years at 4.1 % and it remained under 5% 30 months in a row. He 'inherited' from the republicans a 7.5 % unemployment rate. Yea, keep blaming Clinton.

Saying a presidents policies don't take effect until the next president is the biggest bunch of shit I've ever heard. I guess with that mentality the Enron execs can simply blame their previous leadership.

Repeat after me.....Clinton surplus....... Bush deficit.....Clinton surplus....... Bush deficit.....Clinton surplus....... Bush deficit

Bush was not elected, he was installed against the will of the majority of US voters, through the machinations of his brother, and the Supreme Court judges appointed by his father.
