Paxum does Deducted?

Once the external card is added, a token payment will be deducted from your credit card in order to verify the card.

Usually it's been crediting a token amount to verify.

Am I wrong?

I vaguely remember paypal doing a deduction... seems like that would be pretty standard.

I say most of the systems that verify your card ADD small amount of money to your card.

As Tempest suggests, it's standard practice for a deduction to be made for this kind of Credit Card validation.

For example, Paypal makes a deduction when adding a credit card or debit card to your account.

HM. When I was verifying PayPal they DEPOSITED pesos IN.
Not a biggie anyway.

I guess it was bank account verification. Sorry.

Paxum is right, normally they deduct the amount, same for PayPal and tons of other services.

BUT!
Then when the account is verified, they either give you the deducted amount as credit on the ewallet or void the transaction and send it back to the card.

Paypal deducts money
Moneybookers deduct money

You're stupid and don't know the difference between bank account verification and credit card.

They of course need to try to charge your card, to see that it has money and function as a normal card.
