Who the fuck is "they"?

Too many whingers moping around in their own self-pity and laziness hoping for "them" to do something.

You make your own way in life, fag. If anything "they" should start handing out free DVDs on the streets.

Yes, better in my opinion.

Tubes are daily life for many, habitual, so if non-promotional content was not available anywhere except a members area then sales would be like never witnessed before.

The generation who are now hooked on porn thanks to tubes and other illegal sharing will have no issue shelling out their disposable income on a few paysite memberships a month.

I remember the days they blamed galleries with 3 movieclips with 20 second movies.
Heck I remember the days when giving away 20 pictures was giving away the cow according to many.

Heh, at one time a promo was a couple of pics with the genitalia blacked out. Now a promo is a 30-minute full hardcore video.

The only way it could be 1999 again is if Al Gore were running for President.

Sales = $$$$ Traffic merely gives you the chance to sell to more. give them the product you're trying to sell to them. It destroys sales. Selling to 1 in 100, never meant selling to 10 in 1,000 for very long. In theory it should of, in practice the main way of getting the additional 900 was giving away more free legal porn. Individuals will say otherwise, yet we all know what's happened to ratios over the last 15 years.
I meant traffic in general costs money. Whether its good or bad traffic is their problem they will have to dish out $$$ for it and the golden days of safe "file sharing" are over. Their investment will be futile being that as soon as they grow enough to offer a "quality pirate experience" they will be shut down. My point was that if new pirate sites pop up it wont be free. Building up a profitable # of visitors will become harder and harder and riskier and riskier. Their business model is basically over. It's all downhill form now.

The hardest thing to change is someones culture, the culture today is "Porn is free." The biggest savings will be on the cost of keeping pirated content off piracy sites.
I don't agree that culture plays a role. I really know what I'm talking about I used to pirate until 99 when they outlawed it in my country. 6 shops 18 workers, pirate paradise. But they passed a law, kicked some ass, and the "culture" changed. People need games or utilities regardless of whether they have to pay for them or not. You would not believe the 180 degree turn. For fucks sake I went and actually purchased a few original games myself for my PS2 and PS3 I have maybe 30 original CDs/DVDs

NO doubt in my mind that if my 3rd world shit hole changed its culture in a few days that the same can easily happen online. It will happen the MOMENT when finding quality pirate stuff becomes a pain in the ass. Will be de ja vu as far as I'm concerned.

Agree totally. Quality content is rare in porn. Only a few people are capable of even understanding what a quality shot is, let alone produce one. Mediocre content is abundant but quality will always make money IMO

Back when shemales looked like a buffed up Rodney Dangerfield with long hair? Funny thing, that wouldn't sell for shit back then but these days, some 45yo construction worker in a wig & bra jamming a 22 inch jelly dildo up his hairy ass on Streamate will make major bank.

True. The ability to create Playboy/Penthouse end porn photographically is usually reserved for people outside porn. Porn simply never paid enough to entice these people. Then if they know the photography end, there's still the model and porn end. NO online only shooter has ever reached that level and if he did, he's a fool for only working online. Odds are he wouldn't of had the training from online work.

If people have to pay then they will change. Factor in all the free porn online and they don't have to pay and don't have to change their culture.

If porn could be banned from the Internet, the online pornographers who can make the switch will be so happy. 10,000 of traffic pushers will not be.

And this is why the great days will never come back.

And instead of stopping at that, we escalated the problem and proved the problem was giving it away for free. Good post.

Look back to the days of Napster. You could d/l everything easily and quickly. I've grown accustomed to pirating everything I wanted.

Then Napster got shot down, torrent sites became fragmented and PIA to deal with.

Today, I'm not 18yo kid with 0 disposable income. I don't mind paying a few bucks to save myself the hassle. This is why people use Itunes, Netflix, Amazon streams - we don't feel like dicking around the web searching for stuff, going through 5 popunders, only to be told we need to install a 'plugin' and fucking up our computers.

I think porn will have similar progression. But more personal content like cams is succeeding quite well and girls are selling their own movies/etc. Money is being made. It's just not being made my generic old methods.
