I have different needs in that I don't store 'content' for resale, only for 2257, I'll post a pic of that sometime for ya ;)... I use BD for that. I need a small box for documents... it's pretty confusing reading all the reviews.

if you just want to store docs you can get an external HD and burn a copy to DVDs

If I wasn't a serious geek who built a storage cloud from scratch, I'd use the Western Digital World Edition. Out of the box, it's solid. Your favorite geek can customize it if needed because under the hood it's a Linux server.
That or use webserver old hardware you have laying around and install FreeNAS or similar. A comparison of open NAS solutions, all of which are more feature rich and customizable than are affordable NAS hardware: http://www.linuxplanet.com/linuxplanet/reports/7153/1 |

I picked up a Qnap 4 bay nas box about 3 months ago as well. So far so good. Hot swappable and pretty easy to set up.
Has anyone used http://www.freenas.org/ in a setup? Just curious.

I have a ReadyNas +, but I'm very disappointed with the speed. I'm going to find a USB3 solution soon.
