If it's not Mojo or NatNet in adult... Does it really matter? I mean, come on... if you're with any other company, you're either starting out, or you are just trying to get cheap-secondary hosting. At which point, just switch to a different one. It doesn't really matter. But if you are hosting your primary sites on anything other than the above-mentioned.... You are in for a long haul of headaches, issues and trouble, in my opinion and experience.

Yes, sure people have the right to make their opinions here but it's not like I don't want to hear others opinions. It's more like I think that the half of this negativity is artificial, fake, untrue. Sure there are some people that are not satisfied but they should first try to resolve their problems directly and only if it fails then cry over here. But there are some people that has not even hosted at with this company yet they put a negative looking comment just to throw more oil to the fire. I think it's a bit unfair.

The last thing I would do is place my sites with a company who pulls shit like that the first week I'm with them so I canceled and of course I get a response with the 'no refund' bs. So I'm wondering, did you enjoy the $70 you basically stole from me? I mean at least tell me it went to feeding your poor grandma or something.

I have 6 dedicated servers with them.

I'd be willing to bet 75%+ of all threads on all forums saying "XYZ Hosting Sucks!" are started by asshats on a $10 VPS plan.
Again, I have 6 dedicated servers with them.

So fucking what?

Just because you have a handful of servers with some company does that mean no one else is entitled to their opinion, or has a different experience (good or bad) with webair worth noting?

Congrats on the fact you can afford 6 dedicated servers, and have them with webair. However, I do not believe that because you have a few servers with them, it makes anyone else's experience any more or less true.

No offense.

I've been with them for ~5 years and making a move with my current infrastructure is not as easy as migrating a shared plan... so this was not an easy decision.

I haven't been on GFY in forever and simply started the thread to get feedback from everyone since I've really seen their support fall to the ground lately even with the simplest of tasks/issues.

Again, I find it ironic that you are having great experiences with webair and also flying their banner in your sig. Meanwhile, I can't get them to give me the access I need or even return my calls in a timely manner. I think I'm going on 5 days now and still don't have the access I need to all of my servers.

Just wait until something does come up and you are losing thousands of dollars. You just might suddenly understand exactly where I am coming from.

It has nothing to do with the actual problem and everything to do with how they handle it.

I completely agree, but I think the reference to the type of plan is referring to the experience level of the customer making the complaint.

I've gone to great lengths to get things resolved, but I can't run their business for them.

CT,

Honestly, I'm sorry to see you go. You have been a long term valued client. After looking into your account and recent posts/complaint. I see that your VBulletin was hacked a few months back, the issue was addressed, and recommendations were made to you accordingly. Unfortunately, not all of your Vbulletin applications were upgraded by your tech. Compounding the issue, the recent miscommunication you had with Oleg in our LP chat did not help the situation. My apologies again.

Best of luck to you, if you need any thing at all from our side we are here for you.

I also think hosting depends greatly on WHAT, exactly, your websites are doing. Are they static? Do you update them regularly, are they dynamic? How many scripts are you running? Are you streaming, pulling in data via PHP, using Wordpress, using clunky, bug-filled programs on your sites that have nothing to do with hosting? How big are the files on your site which can affect load times. WHERE is your hosting? Halfway round the world or in downtown Chicago, etc?

There are cloud solutions, multi-dedi solutions, even shared plans can work depending on what you're doing....

But really, how HUGE is your host? Do they have a support "team" or just one or two people handling thousands of boxes and issues? If they DO "have a support staff" then test that staff out by calling at 3 in the morning, etc. There are enough hosting choices out there for any need.

No offense taken... I was simply arguing the point that all the complaints are from shared plans:

Thanks for summing up one of many recent incidents, but that is hardly the reason I am making a move. I've said this several times, and I will say it again: it has nothing to do with what happens and everything to do with how you handle it. I haven't had time to dig through everything, but perhaps I can post a few more examples later.

I just got off the phone with Gerard.. and I honestly hope you can stop defending yourself and start taking some of the advice to heart. You clearly don't have any room for defense and you're just embarrassing yourself.

You should learn from all the major brands out there that have had PR nightmares - accept responsibility and make a change.

CT Again I'm sorry you had a bad experience. I'm not attempting to defend anything here other than the facts, and that I am sorry to see you go. As with any successful business out there we do not enjoy losing any client. Regardless, I do not think under the circumstances are you warranted in attacking me personally, being hostile and verbally abusive with my staff, questioning my character, and accusing me of using fake nicks. There are MANY existing clients that have GREAT things to say about Webair on their own accord as you can see.

We looked into your specific issues (past and present), and discussed them internally. Rest Assured, we will take what we can from this experience, go forward, and be all the better for it. I suggest you do the same. Again if you need anything from us on the way out we are happy to help you.

This will be my last reply to you on this forum.

All the best.

I've been with Webair a couple of years now, I've had dozens of sites come and go on my server. I have a dedicated box with them. While I cannot say that I am exactly pleased with their recent additions in live support staff who really need training, I can say that they have worked diligently with me to get issues taken care of when they arise, because they're usually out of my realm of knowledge. Aside from that, I am happy with the pricing of my server. I am very unhappy with my MySQL and the way its so damn slow (its on my server as well) but when I am running blogs I use W3 total cache and my time to first byte from the server is usually 500ms now... so I can't complain about network speed.

I've hosted with Webair for about 10 years, have had a great experience. Only one or 2 issues the whole time, but Mike has always gone above and beyond the call.

A lot of you idiots loved Splitinfinity, they were the worst host I've used.

I thought you were addressing this thread which, until right now, I haven't even read let alone posted in. Clearly you are trolling.

How is AMP Content doing? WTF is it to you? I never begged to give you free shitty content in exchange for supporting me on GFY. Yet, you asked me several times to support you in exchange for some shitty hosting. You had no concerns with my posting habits before and while I had your link in my sig. I'm also not seeing boat loads of threads complaining about my shitty content or posting from a fake nic pretending to support it.

I'd say you should stick to worrying about your own failing business and accusations of fraud.

Webair was the worst hosting experience I have ever had. I stopped using them back in like 2005 because of it and never looked back.

The proof is in the quoted message. You or one of your cronies got caught. You provided the very proof you're requesting. You very obviously forgot to switch nicks before typing your reply.

REALLY fucking pathetic to have to use shills but at least everyone knows what you're all about now.

the way least mentioned company when it comes to downtime ... choopa ... been with them for ages and they really rock it ... if, IF, ever smth sucks or you need a script installed or one on one ICQ support - they are THERE ... hands down, i'd never settle for anything less but CHOOPA

My experience with Webair has been pretty trouble free over 7 years. Having 24/7 live chat support is great but some of the techs working it over the years have been frustrating. If I had a big problem I'd go to Sagi, but that's the same at any hosting or any tech company, you don't get senior tech personnel until there's a bigger problem or you bitch.

ok, my sites have been going up and down like crazy.

someone from customer service mailed me, i explain problem, no repsonse.

I keep asking what is the problem and noone can tell me. Each time they say things are back up and working then it goes down again.

sorry guys 5 years of happy hosting but this is enough. This past week is pathetic.

other hosts feel free to get in touch with me. this is pathetic from webair.

This is exactly why this board has gone downhill, people like this just ruin any sort of real business getting done here. Complete losers.

Back to wicked fire. People there are intelligent!

I have cheap $10 VPS with them with about 50 sites, mostly wordpress and static. All problems I had was quickly solved by their support, including live chat (which is really good feature for $10 plan). I am buying a dedi from them now. If there will be any problems, I'll switch elsewhere, but for now I am very happy with them.

We've been with Webair for years and are extremely happy with the service. Turn around time on a work order can always improve, but when/if our server goes down our rep is prompted and downtime is at a minimal. However, it should be noted that our server hasn't gone down in the past 2 years (we're on their cloud setup).

My only gripe with them is a getting an ETA when something goes down; email, db, etc.
All in all, our service is champion status.

This board has degenerated into a case of "Why the fuck do I even bother?"

This place is like an afternoon soap where nothing actually happens, and nothing ever gets done. All bullshit and melodrama, but I can't stop reading - and I can't stop auditioning for the part of the crazy uncle who only appears on screen once or twice a month.

GFY! Where have you gone?

I've used several hosts over the ~12 years I've been playing with websites. I don't like moving hosts and setting up new servers, it's a royal pain in the ass, so I generally choose carefully, and don't leave at the first hint of a problem either.

Having said that... I think I lasted about 6 or 8 months at webair, possibly the shortest run with any host.
