What are the top 10 events of your life so far...

Spending a quiet Fri night at home working on some computer stuff, a bit saddened by the Hollie Stevens news, thought Id post something positive and maybe others can reflect on some past positive experiences in thier lives... Aside from marriage or biths of children, whats your top 10 best life experiences... heres mine. #1 being the best.

1 - Have to say the best was being on the ice for a Stanley Cup celebration. On my skates, picking up gear and bringing the table for the CUP to center Ice. All of you who know my appreciation for hockey can understand thats #1.

2 - A VERY CLOSE SECOND was that same night having Brad Richardson hand me the CUP and letting me hoisting it over my head. Hpoisting that CUP was for all the years watching Rangers, seeing cups won live and of course for The Kings.

3 - Being there in 94 to watch my beloved NY Rangers win the CUP and break the curse. I made my way down to the corner photographer hole and Messier skated the CUP over to me and let me touch it. Anyone who saw the ESPN feed saw me grab it even tho I was prettier back then

4 - Also in 94 I was allowed to ride in my buddies convertible in the parade down canyon of heros. It was the MTV car with Nick Kypreos and the presidents trophy. Unfortunately no pics.

5- This year at the Grammys Paul McCartney walked up to me, shook my hand . asked me my name and told me " keep up the good work " then kept walking. WOW

6- Early 90s I was in Beverly Hills doing production for Safire..a latin hip hop artist. I was at the Beverly Hills Bungalos and was having a quiet outdoor breakfast poolside when BRUCE SPRINSTEEN sat right next to me and had his breakfast. Fruitbowl and oatmeal. We had a brief chat and I kinda just left him alone.

7 - 4 years ago I drove across Europe. Started in Prague, went thru Hungary ( THE LONG WAY GEEZ ) Croatia, Slovenia , Italy..and in Rome got to see the POPE give mass as he was intiating 7 new Cardinals. I saw it right on the tall monument in the square. It was breathtaking for sure. I wish I were inside the Cathedral tho.

8 - When I live in Florida I was able to go to a night time space shuttle launch. It was incredible. I t was nightime turned into daytime.

9 - 5 years ago at Staples Center before I worked there.. I got to suit up in a Kings uniform and lead the team on the ice for pregame warm up before an Edmonton game. I was so fucking nervous but when I was out there the players were having fun with me, small body checks It was awesome. Closest Ill ever come to playing in the NHL.

10 - I know most of my top experiences are hockey related, but thats how I lived most of my life. Number 10 has to be 4 years ago participating in a charity hockey game at Staples Center. My bench coach was Gordie Howe. I remember him saying to me.." Son when you shoot the puck go after your own rebound, you never know" And as incredible as it sounds,, the next period, I took a shot, got my own rebound and roofed it. As I can back to bench, Gordie looked at me, winked and patted me on back. To make the day even better I had flown my mom and dad to LA for this and they sat in first row, and they had a huge smile on thier face. My mom had never seen me play before and it was cool as hell for it to be there for the first time.

The top 10 events that have happened to me where all events that I made happen, and probably wouldnt be significant to anyone else.

Well except for some of the AFF trips I've been on... those are fuckin legendary but what happens on a private jet, stays on a private jet unless it happens to Boneprone.

When my goldfish laid eggs. It was a very special moment.

But none of the eggs hatched. She was heartbroken and died soon after...

I flushed her.

1. Marrying Eva.
2. Waking up every day with her.
3. Birth of my first daughter.
4. Birth of my second daughter.
5. Death of my Father.
6. Going bankrupt in 1977.
7. Seeing Eva move her legs when she was in hospital.
8. Being told I had beaten cancer.

Everything else doesn't come close. Lots of memorable moments, just not to compare with these 8.

Not trying to sound like a dick, but you have all these fun things in your list and then these 2 items. Having breakfast next to a celebrity and "kinda leaving him alone" is in your top 10? I don't get it. I'm sure you've done much more interesting stuff.

Sure you can things of something much more exiting that you've done

Yes sitting next to Bruce Sprinsteen having breakfast was extremely memorable. And " not to sound like a dick " but I did not want to bother the man and have him think Im a dick and walk away.I had a brief little chat with him like I said.

It is hard to put them in order of which is better or more memorable, but here are a few that stand out.

1. Going to Egypt. It was an amazing, life changing event.

2. Having a perfect 24 hours while in Egypt. During the trip we had a 3 day cruise down the Nile. One morning we were up before dawn and went to the Valley of Kings where all the pharaoh's tombs are. It was incredible. That afternoon we saw queens' tombs and other stuff. That evening we had a great dinner and a cool show. As the ship left dock and continued to sail I went up on the overhead deck with this girl I met while on the trip. The sky was clear and filled with stars. We laid on one of those suntanning lounge chairs and passed a bottle of wine back and forth. We didn't say much, just soaked in the moment then slept together that night. It was a perfect moment.

3. Getting tongue kissed by Liz Phair. . . it's a long story that is kind of funny and made me marginally famous locally for a few weeks.

4. First time I got paid to write something.

5. Spending 16 amazing hours in Zurich Switzerland with a girl from Spain. Another somewhat long story. It could be a movie of boy meets girl during flight layover and they have 16 hours of goofy fun.

6. When I moved from Oregon to Los Angeles. As I came up over the last hill headed into the LA Basin the sun was just coming up and the Church's "Under the Milky Way" came on the radio. It was like a moment out of a movie. I had been scared about the move, but in that moment I knew I was going to be okay.

7. Having a South Park moment with Michael Stipe.

8. Going to San Francisco with my then girlfriend to see the Picasso exhibit they had. I hated the city, but that day in the museum and the stupid fun she and I had staying in this shitty, broken down, rats nest of a hotel was fun.

9. A fun trip to New Orleans to interview Mike Ditka for a magazine. He was a cool guy and after the interview I ended up spending a week in the city and had a crazy, fun time that included everything from going out in the swamp to see gators to eating some great food to having sex with a vampire chick I met on Bourbon Street.

10. A week long camping trip after high school graduation. Right after high school a few friends and I went on a week long camping trip on the Oregon Coast. We hit a few different stops and had a blast. A few of those guys were going into the military and one was going off to college. It was really the last time the core group of friends I hung out with in high school was together at the same time. I am still close to them all and live near a few of them, but others have moved to different places. It was a great memory.

Those are the things that come from the top of my head.

why are yankees so CELEBRITY admirers?

in all your top 10 you put some celebrity? WTF?.. I dont fucking care if I eat with a celebrity and i dont fucking care about his signature, he's just a human, nothing else, and many are just lucky and have no talent.

if that are top moment's of a life person, what a pathetic life...

who fucking cares about idiot celebrities. They are way OVER-VALUED in this western world.

who fucking cares about bruce springsteen? he's only known in your country, he's so nationalist that he hardly goes to latin-america, nobody here knows him at all.

Life always offers great moments. It's up to you to see everyone of them. Maybe I'm too old comparing to the youngsters around ( I'm 36) but I feel great moments are so many I can't count them all - and I know there are more on my way.

Birth of my kids - were great moments
Taking every single exam at the university, especially those I did not read a page from - was great
My first time sex was great - yeah to me only, but it was great
It was great for me to travel around Greece, it was great to meet new guys
It was great to find a job after I bankrupted :-)
It was great that several people around gfy gave me advice to make a site - we'll see about what would be next.

If by any chance I start earning enough - my first goal is to visit Bangkok and to receive a happy ending massage, without knowing of my wife - you know one of these where a totally naked chick is rubbing her body over yours - everything is full of foam, and she's sliding top to bottom from your shoulders to the knees... then she taps you to turn around on back and oh - surprise ! You got an erection! Then slides continues at some moment it slides inside(by accident?!) !!!!! I'm pretty sure that's will be a great moment.

Have anyone experienced that ? I've heard this from a friend, but he told me that his wife was with him - she was massaged by another girl on next massage table. Then they had something like group lesbian sex, cause the guy came something like 3-4 times in 5 minutes... and could not do something more. But sounds great.

If we put joke aside the great moments come with the efforts from your side. A man should not do nothing and wait for the miracle to come. That's what I think at least.

Well except for some of the AFF trips I've been on... those are fuckin legendary but what happens on a private jet, stays on a private jet unless it happens to Boneprone.

making money off my creative efforts ranks right up there for sure, driving my first corvette, driving my caddilacs... really great stuff for sure and I got them from my creative efforts. another hight point.

living in a gated estate in the hills outside LA is very damn cool. I think about that when I go swimming at 4am-5am. stars are out, I can hear coyotes fucking around out in there bushes...

my daughter I have enjoyed much more since she got a bit older... when she was 5-6 is when I really appreciated having her as a child. before that is was just a fucking headache. the daughter is doing well, no issues with drugs or creey bs. going to collage etc.

lots of very good stuff in my life...

Cool thread. I'm 31, and I often think about how fortunate I've been so far in life. Not long ago I'd be close to the age where many people were reaching avg life expectancy. It would have been near impossible for them to see another country for example. Many people today in the world will still never leave where they were born, even once in their life. It's truly amazing what we're able to do today, even for people of modest means.

Meeting my wife, and the birth of my child, obvious. When he was born I was 99% certain it was going to be a girl (even though we didn't find out beforehand) and the doctor had to ask me if I understood anatomy... He was born "floppy" and they were hitting red buttons, trying to revive him.. I was holding my wife and trying to block her view. Luckily everything went okay.

My wife is from Mexico City, and I took a greyhound bus there the first time. 3.5 days each way. It was really awesome. On the bus I wrote my plan for AdultSiteSurfer actually. Time well spent, you might say.

Buying my first modem. I bought a used 2400 baud modem, changed everything. Being part of BBSing before the Internet was a big part of my life back then, and obviously gave me an advantage when the internet came around.

I helped start MyDesktop when I was 14, and we grew it into a network of 12 sites, eventually selling to Internet.com. I was screwed out of my ownership (because I was 14 and didn't get anything on paper...) but I actually managed to turn that into a positive.

When I was 16 or so, I took a road trip to Texas with my 27 year old boss, with just a learners permit and no idea how to drive standard. We stayed with some friends he knew from the internet. I met a girl at the pool on the second day, she was 26, and we hit it off. I slept at her place the rest of the trip. My friend was pretty pissed off because he liked her too. He ended up staying in Texas, leaving me stranded and I had to ask my uncle to get me home with his frequent flier points.. While I was there I was watching CNN's fortune TV, and my business partner was on! I was like whoaahh.. We'd made the news a lot with MyDesktop.. But this was still pretty random and cool. I had a moment of wtf am I doing, I'm on a couch in Texas... The next segment on the show was about laptops and mobile gadgets, so I said okay, I'm going to do that..

So I wrote a little business plan, came home, and got a $250,000 investment from a VC I knew, in part using my leverage of the guilt my business partner had from screwing me out of the deal... I made more from that than I would have from the sale as it turned out. I slept through my first meeting too, and still got the money.. That was a good day.

Getting VC money two more times, also highlights.

'98 Comdex was very cool. We went in full black suits with fedoras, and were too young to get into half the parties because of our age, even with press credentials.

Monte Carlo in 2005, working at the Poker Millions tournament. First night I won a tournament with 10 guys from the UK in the bar at the hotel, all of whom were entered into the $25k buyin tournament. The guy I went heads up against took 12th in the WSOP main event the year before. Paul Jackson was there but was late so he didn't play with us.

Phil Ivey won the tournament, and when he went up to get the big check I yelled out "your fly's down!" and he looked... lol.. Then he won the Full Tilt tournament that was held afterwards in the historical casino there.. When he went to get the check I did the same thing, and he checked again, smiled and gave me the poiint like youuu agaaaain... hahah.. A couple years later I was at Cleo's in Vegas and he walked in with his wife.. he kept looking at me throughout the dinner like HOW do I know that guy...

$10,000 night at the Spearmint Rhino in Vegas... That's gotta be up there.. Same night actually as Cleo's.

Some great parties at adult conventions too.. Like the night I bribed a security guard with Player's Ball passes to tell me which room Too $hort was in, walking down the hall to his room with ~20 people following me (at a safe distance lol).. Some half naked chick answered and said he was busy... ;)

Seeing my wife's dad build a new house. From visiting the empty lot with long grass and empty beer bottles to the incredibly beautiful home they have today. I think it took him 7 years from start to finish.

Throwing a party at the Space Needle in Seattle. I met a lady on the plane who told me I had to thank my estranged Father for giving me my life, no matter how much I was hurt. That really helped me find the strength to patch things up with him after 8 years of not talking. When his father died, I saw him at the funeral and I talked to him, and he asked if I'd come with him to the burial, about a 2 hour drive away.. I said okay.. it was really, really weird.. When it was time to lower my grandfather's ashes, nobody was stepping up (they didn't like him...) so I said I'd do it and my grandma really appreciated it. Now I talk to my dad and it was really helpful to stop the cold war.

All my acid trips. :D

Life's been good. I've already done more than I ever thought I would, and hopefully there's a lot more to come.

Ah yes.. Celebrating first million as well. Still working on the bankruptcy... :P

too hard to say really. life comes and goes and i think the idea of 'top events' probably changes every year if not monthly due to what i view as *important* and what it is, is really meaningless to most besides me. regardless a lot of you don't read well as the list was supposed to be things other than marriages or births.

Not necessarily the top ten and not in any particular order but for me certainly high on the list:

1. When my mother got me 2nd row on the floor of Radio City Music Hall for the Grateful Dead electric/acoustic, then helped me escape from boarding school to get to the show and finally get me back before I was found gone.

2. Going to Mexico and getting over my fear of sharks and being in the ocean by swimming in a fenced pool full of sharks, some twice my size, then going in the ocean and swimming with a giant school of barracuda.

3. Winning my adult hockey league championship and making good on my promise that if we won I would re-create the final scene in Slapshot and do a strip tease on the ice... which got me a one game suspension at the start of the next season.

4. Making Porn with Carrie Fisher, Richard Dreyfuess, Tim Hutton, and Buck Henry while teaching Matt Stone and Trey Parker about porn for "Orgazmo" (before SouthPark fame). I pretended to be Trey and he pretended to be me and that was just the beginning of the pranks we unleashed that evening.

5. Going with a friend and a girl I liked but who had a crush on my pal to hike and boulder in Joshua Tree on acid and having to rescue my friend when he got stuck on a ledge and began to panic... which made such a heroic impression on the gal that a flip switched and suddenly she saw the romantic potential in me... eventually leading to a very happy ending.

6. Being at the Orgazmo screening at the Toronto film festival with my record producer pal who just wrapped making a record with the Rolling Stones and him running into Mick Jagger at a Miramax party - then all of us getting invited to be an audience of about ten people watching the Stones rehearse their show, meeting all the Stones, then going to another party and getting picked up by a blond milf movie exec who was attracted to me because I looked so frigging euphoric.

7. Watching the Dead bust out the epic "dark star" for an encore during a lunar eclipse at a show in Berkeley. Doesn't sound like much but it was a mindblowingly heart wrenchingly spiritual moment, for all the work getting there, all ragged, hard, worn down from the road, but never saw that many people so happy and so spiritually moved and then silenced with a sense of rapture. Bliss. Pure bliss. (ok, you might have to be a Deadhead to even come close to getting this one..)

8. The moped ride back home on a warm star filled Summer night full of fireflies after I lost my virginity to a girl from New Jersey who taught me my first lesson on the road to a life in porn, namely, good girls are nice but nice sluts are a good deal more fun in bed.

9. Being on Dead tour and running into a guy whom I once while tripping flipped out on and wanted to apologize to for years and almost running into him on the way to the bathroom at a diner in the middle of bumfuck nowhere and finally able to get it off my chest... best piss I ever took after that.

10. The night we threw a huge party, the original Players Ball, during the AVN show with Long Beach Dub Allstars (Sublime, post death of singer) and afterwards I had sex in front of a room of people (rescuing an otherwise dull girl-girl show from putting folks to sleep) while listening to a few "playas" discuss the inside dope on DMR falling apart - it was a Matix download straight to the brain of how online worked plus some funky sex and life felt very balanced in that way one feels when being in the right place at the right time with the right group of friends should feel.

Sounds like some wild times. I am not a big Grateful Dead fan but once had a crazy 24 hour experience that involved the Dead, a few bottles of absinthe, a bonfire and my boss telling me not to touch her vagina. It was quite a ride and a good memory. . .well what I can remember of it.

10. The night we threw a huge party, the original Players Ball, during the AVN show with Long Beach Dub Allstars (Sublime, post death of singer) and afterwards I had sex in front of a room of people (rescuing an otherwise dull girl-girl show from putting folks to sleep) while listening to a few "playas" discuss the inside dope on DMR falling apart - it was a Matrix download straight to the brain of how online worked plus some funky sex and life felt very balanced in that way one feels when being in the right place at the right time with the right group of friends should feel.

Holy crap. That is amazing - I am a huge Zappa fan and that is such a fertile time in his creative ouvre. I bow in your general direction and chant "the poodle bites, the poodle chews it"...
