Why is everything so stupid these days?

I open up weather.com and plastered in red across the top is "Frehyr moving across northeast" ... I'm thinking, what are we, naming storms now.. or is that some kind of huge dangerous bird? Then, to top it all off, when I click on the ominous looking FREYHYR WARNING I find out that we have STORM CONS now

Additionally, you may see our new STORM:CON winter impact index, which you can read more about at this link.

Hartford - STORM:CON 5 - Moderate snow through Saturday evening.

Boston - STORM:CON 6 - Moderate to heavy snow late Saturday through Saturday night.

You know- everything is fucking stupid, these days. When you can't even get a coherent weather report- something is wrong. Everyone in this country is pretty much braindead, too. If it's not extreme OR stupid OR extremely stupid, no one pays any attention. People these days are like four year olds. Literally.

STORM:CON is the latest in a series of signature winter products launched at The Weather Channel this year, adding to our other recently released products, Winter Storm Names and the Winter Weather Watch.

(MORE: Winter Storm Names | Winter Weather Watch)

STORM:CON provides a winter impact index on a scale of 1 to 10 for major cities within the path of the storm. Though the new winter impact index is similar to the TOR:CON index, there is a significant difference: TOR:CON is an area-based threat index, whereas STORM:CON is a point-based winter impact index for select cities.

STORM:CON is a science-based winter-storm impact index, developed after evaluation of winter storm indices including the Northeast Snowfall Impact Scale (NESIS) and the Local Winter Storm Scale (LWSS). The Weather Channel has developed computer algorithms using several meteorological parameters from the Global Forecast Center’s (GFC) forecast database to calculate a preliminary STORM:CON index number twice a day for major US cities. The final index value is adjusted by evaluating subjective factors that influence societal impact for winter storms. These will include but will not be limited to:

1. Duration of the storm
2. Time of day and day of week
3. How close in time to a previous significant winter event this event occurs
4. Early or late season occurrence

STORM:CON Guidelines

STORM:CON follows a common sense methodology to categorize the impact a winter storm has on a population center.

For most people, winter weather impacts can be associated with travel problems. With that in mind, general impacts for each level are outlined below:

STORM:CON 1 to 3
Snow or ice occurs but does not produce significant impacts.

STORM:CON 4 to 5
Impacts would disrupt commerce or travel but not force closures. You might see NWS advisories at this level.

STORM:CON 6 to 7
Impacts would close down commerce or travel for a day or less. Metro areas with active NWS Winter Storm Warnings might fit into this category. Recently named winter storms such as Athena, Brutus and Caesar would likely be in this category.

STORM:CON 8 to 9
Impacts would close down commerce/travel for multiple days, typically reserved for biggest storms which might occur 3 to 4 times a year.

STORM:CON 10
Reserved for anticipation of debilitating storms which might occur once or twice a year. Complete shutdown of travel and commerce possibly for several days. Examples would include storms such as Snowtober, Snowmageddon etc.

Well, let's see.

You cannot negotiate a 2 step process (enter zipcode, pick forecast length 5 days or 10 days).

You can't figure out how to make a pre-made salad.

And those are just today's demonstrations of your idiocy.

And you are asking why they make things easier for stupid people?
