Incredible - worst customer service in history. Over 3 hours on hold with Air Canada just to make a chance in flight. Total bullshit.

In contrast : Waited less than 5 minutes for Apple technical support last week. And they only have about a billion more customers than Air Canada.

"People are angry about this. People within my own firm are angry about this. A lot of people are affected. A lot of people use Aeroplan. A lot of people use air miles," said Merchant.

"I'd like to see people who've lost their points without their knowledge really, get them reinstated," said Boome.

Aeroplan's expiration policy also applies to any mile that's not used seven years from the date it was earned. The class action lawsuit demands Aeroplan reinstate expired points, and compensate consumers.

If you would like to get involved in the class action lawsuit you will have to sign up with the Merchant Law Group.

There is no financial cost to join the class action. Aeroplan says it has strong arguments against the lawsuit and will vigorously defend itself."

yeah they change rules all the time...however you only need to fill your gas tank up to reset your year.
I travel 4-5 times a year to long distance spots..what bit my ass is they dropped the number of points..so flying around the world with them 4-5 times a year now...they dont really care to keep me....so i flip flop between air canada and korean air..depending on where im going exactly

I assume you don't have Elite or Super Elite status. Usually I get service pretty quick, but sometimes it is horrible too. So status makes things a bit better, but it's Air Canada after all. What do you expect?

Happened to me years ago with US Airways. I was booking a trip from LAX to PHL and somehow go booked to LAX - PIT. I made this flight all the time and told them it was an error but they refused to believe me, even when I showed them proof.

Over 5 hours total on the phone and most of that was on hold!

I swear airlines do this just so you get frustrated and say fuck it, I'll buy another ticket.

Called AC Monday at 1:30 am to cancel a flight I booked for the wrong month... waited 5 minutes for an agent .... smooth ...
Leaving on Wesjet , returning on AC .... great low cost .

I've just read that earlier this week Ryan Air plane took off half hour early from Polish airport without clearance, leaving 20 people on the ground. That's some great customer care as well.

AC sucks donkey balls. I was a dedicated AC traveler for years but after constant bad service, and crazy lines I'll never fly them again.

It's too bad since as Canadians we always have to bail them out from going under, and yet they never learn.

wait a minute Mark. you should be thanking air canada for the opportunity to provide transportation to you. remember you are the person who thinks the customer is always wrong and should be grateful to the business for providing them a service. not counting your countless disgruntled customers, but do you remember your recent post where you said the guy whos hosting went down during christmas should have thanked the hosting company for only having his sites offline for 1 day. yeah that's right you are THAT guy. so why you complaining about air canada and not thanking them for getting back to you 3 hours later, they could have left you on hold for a whole day!
