It wasn't that good. The host was Christoph Waltz from Inglorius Basterds and Django Unchained. He was ok but seemed out of his element somehow. All of the sketches were week, especially the News bit which now gives way too much time to comedians doing long bits instead of the usual short 5 second jokes it should delivery.

The band was Alabama Shakes. They are a weird looking group but sounded fucking great. Never heard of them before.

The Best SNL was a couple of months ago with Mick Jagger. He sand with 4 different bands including the Foo Fighters and a Montreal band. the show was really funny and had lots of surprise guests too.

SNL is "ok" most of the time, pretty funny sometimes, and hilarious on the rare occasion. They just need to tighten up the jokes, drop a player or two, take chances with jokes that are more edgy.

I did not watch this weeks as most of the other weeks I have watched recently are pretty much described as you described this one. I have heard the Alabama Shakes did rock it, which is why I originally asked about the music in my first reply. I completely agree with your final overview of what SNL is. The last funny thing I can remember that really had me laughing on SNL is when Fred Armison or however its spelled played the blind governor of NY then the real guy came out and they way the fuck with New Jersey. It was hilarious. That guy hasnt been in office for a while already.

Really? I can;t stand that skit. It's always the same non-joke. Are we supposed to laugh at their accents? I don't get that skit at all. I've seen 2 and skip the rest.

SNL as gone to the shitters. Really not sure which demographic they are targeting when they have guest/hosts such as Bieber and Anna Montana.

I got to say... I agree with Harmon SNL died a long time ago

Must agree,

SNL sucks a big chewy donkey dick that beats you in the head when you look at it wrong.

There's an SNL retrospective on right now. They just said that Lorne Micheals caters to a teenage audience.

That explains alot. I find 90% of their sketches to be juvenile garbage.
