Yes I see your point, I looked at Too Much about 6 years ago and on a couple of occasions since. I didn't say I couldn't afford it I said I didn't want it, because I want control of the hosting. At the other end of the scale is Videowhisper which I have no confidence in at all. However today has been very successful as I have located the "perfect" solution. It's a cam script for $800, with exactly the functionality I require. When it's all setup you can take a look.

Good look with your new cam site. 800$ is nothing if it work fine for what you need.
Usually the custom solutions for sites like MyFreeCams may cost 85k-100k USD ready to use cam site.
The big problem for this type of sites isn't the cam script. The big problem is the cam traffic, the models and live video streaming that eat a lot of resources and require a lots of unmetered media servers that cost a fortune. That may explain the "success" of all the small cam sites which run on the latest years around.
Can you please share with us the name of the cam script which you found it?

Well if you have traffic.. this can be several thousand dollar a month in hosting billing... also the machines itself.. for 2 cam sites I have like 5+5 = 10 dedicated boxes and they're not so big. But really if you have traffic you have sales, so you can pay whatever hosting, just saying if you do a popunder campaign that cost in traffic (and servers or site hangs) more than what you pay for buy the popups itself.

I too would like to know the name of the script. We have clients who contact us but that we can't work with for various reasons, who we then refer to other cam software providers. If the solution you found is good let us know so we can send our non-clients to them.

with this king of scripts cheap scripts with customization are more expensive than cheaper solution what was already tested. Flash coding isn't like PHP where you found the bugs, fix its and run all fine.
