Real thread: What do you consider "Making IT" in online sales?

More and more these days I hear people berating people because they are looking for their $50 or $100 payout that company "X" fails to deliver.

Then the people come into the thread stating that, "If you are worried about $50 you aren't shit to begin with. Go Back to your Burger King job..." blah blah blah.

I frown upon this. Every dollar counts in the end. I would chase somebody for $50. Fuck I would chase somebody for $10 is they owed it to me. May it not be as hard as the person that owed me a grand? I'd still chase them as long as it was cost/time effective.

So, what does GFY consider to be MAKING IT in online sales?

$100/day? $500/day? $1,000/day? More?

Sound off

I'm currently doing anywhere from $1000 - $1500 a day in eBay sales, but it could be gone tomorrow.

I think keeping something like that going for a while would be a better sign of success than hitting a certain dollar amount.

Very nice response. That's good cash. Save as much of it as you can if you are unsure as to the longevity... but I don't need to tell you that.

That's total sales for the day, my markup is 200 - 400% of the wholesale cost on the various products I'm selling. So yeah, there's plenty of profit.

I've been lucky enough to keep finding more stuff to buy and sell, as things fall off.

Selling is the easy part. Keeping it going is the actual work.

I worked it out at $3000 per month that's for food and rent and that's a reasonable goal online

That's total sales. But like I said, markup is quite large. I have one product that costs me $18 and I sell for $100. So there's a hefty profit margin.

I hardly spend anytime here really. I'm always logged in, post a few times a day maybe. But time spent here now is nothing compared to how often I was on here 8 years ago or so.

The amount doesn't matter. Money is money.

A few years ago I discovered I had a address mix up with with a solo girl company, and they owed me some $600. Although I trusted the company, and it was my fault, I was worried about getting the money. "Not a problem" they told me, and I had a check a week later. In fact, it was Raven Riley's site.

Making it?
Depends really what you do.
If online (sales) is your only income, then I think you need to make a few hundred per day (profit), otherwise you might as well just get a "real job".

If you have a full time job that pays 6000$, it doesn't matter.. every sale is extra. If you only make 2000$ month in sales but have a steady job, it's a nice little extra.
