Too much technology?

My wife and I have noticed our cells phones are trying to predict what we do...

My cell phone - Android - seems to know I like biking. Any time I'm out on my bike or visiting a local bike shop, it seems to want to guide me to a certain bike shop the next town over. The other day we were at Home Depot and my wife's cell phone keep asking her if she needed directions to Lowes three miles away.

This morning a family member is flying in from Southern California, and their flight info popped up on both of our cell phones this morning as a reminder. Although I haven't talked to my mother in law in two weeks, my wife has, but my cell phone was smart enough to make the connection that my mother in law is coming to visit us and decided to give me the info too.

It's almost like my cell phone is trying to tell me what to do.

At what point does this become too much?

I got a reminder that it's my Moms birthday. Fri 6 Sept between 16.00 - 17.00 6 yearly..

The info is not only inaccurate but I don't know anyone with a birthday on that date.

Why it would only let me know every 6 years baffles me as well.

This is kind of my point. The phones are trying to predict what we'll need, but isn't always right.

I always hear people say with annoyance "my phone never stops ringing or buzzing!"

I say "so turn off your phone, problem solved."

"I can't do that, they expect a reply."

We always try to blame something else, when it's always us that is the real problem.

When I google stuff on my PC...my smartphone ALSO "knows" it. {obviously a google same login thing because I have Android}...

BUT...If I was a "surfer" and was married...I sure as HELL wouldn't like it that the wife could look at my phone and find out what I had been searching for on google. LOL!

THAT's a little tooooo "smart".

I get that too - google maps too. In fact, I put something into google maps last night and today when I went to go there on my cell phone it came up - google maps knew I was going there.

People are begging for trouble when they put every shred of info about their life online or on their phone.

I play Angry Birds Star Wars and Words With Friends on my new I-Pad.

That is as tech as I'm gonna get.
