Philippines Situation

Is it good enough to say "Let's not blame the Government, instead let's help them." My friend keeps saying that! And I always answer him "Without proper plan before landfall of Haiyan is the biggest mistake of our Government."

Fix first, blame later.

You cannot do a damn thing to change what has happened. Going forward you can demand better performance from the government (for what it's worth).

But people need to be fed and attended to medically and that should be the number 1 priority.

Just my of course.

If people keeps blaming the government nothing will happened to them. From my observation 2 days before the typhoon takes rampage the president announcing on local TV's that people on specific region should not underestimate typhoon "haiyan". That place in tacloban always hit by typhoon but they're not expecting a biggest one with storm surge that killed them in the first place. They're not well informed what does "storm surge" means and they're not fully evacuated on there houses.

The Marines have landed and have the situation well in hand.

(Belgium sent people too. Kudos.)

A country the size of Arizona? Don't patronize the government, it only makes you a collaborator.

So far, It's a FAIL.

No reason to not have supplies to EVERY point in Leyte by now. Isn't that what their function is?

Canadian military are sending in the Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART)

Quote:
OTTAWA -- The Canadian military's Disaster Assistance Response Team, or DART, was bound for the Philippine city of Iloilo on Wednesday as the death toll from typhoon Haiyan continued to rise.

The Canadian Forces was also helping with the deployment of a separate 12-member Canadian Red Cross field hospital, while the Immigration Department said it would give special consideration to Filipinos affected by the tragedy.

The Canadian response came in the face of a rising death toll in the Philippines that rose to more than 2,300 lives lost across the country.

Members of the advance party of the Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) load a C177 Globemaster bound for Hawaii at Canadian Forces Base Trenton, Ont. on Monday, Nov. 11, 2013. (Department of National Defence / Cpl. Levarre McDonald)

Pharmacists Captain Wayne Clark and Captain Adam Calabrese prepare a nominal list for members of a Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) prior to their innoculation, in anticipation of a rapid deployment to the Philippine Islands that were ravaged by typhoon Haiyan, at CFB Trenton, Ont. on Nov.11, 2013. (Canadian Forces Combat Camera / Cpl. Darcy Lefebvre)

"The DART team is now on the way to Iloilo, which is one of the affected areas that has so far been less served by some of the humanitarian efforts," Prime Minister Stephen Harper said at the Philippines embassy after signing a book of condolences.

Make a joke out of this tragedy you dick.

You are already a collaborator so your dieing relatives can wait for the Marines or Belgium or, Rochard.

The ones that worship rulers the most are the last to go. But alas, as history shows, in the end, they will eat you too.

Why would they want someone who betrays their own?

You will have the 'privilege' of watching the fodder die before your own demise.

Dropping food and water is a temporary measure only
They have been using planes to get people out of the worst hit areas like taclaban and send them to Manilla.

You cant leave people on the ground in this regions its just too bad - bodies in trees etc etc ... after so many days since landfall its going to be riddled with disease there .

Dropping food and water is not temporary. It is essential.
