Looks like I gotta quit clubbing. The test says my hearing age is over 30. Sigh...

This is probably better. You can actually calibrate it.

20k to 10k nothing. lol From working on the gm line to playing loud rock in very small clubs. We once played in a bar so small it hurt my ears the whole night. When I said something the leader singer who owned the pa said," If its too loud your too old " ! Now being young I just shut up instead of packing up and leaving.

Me too. only hearing it from starting from about 13k or 12k and under. Playing in bands, Being a recording engineer, serving in an artillery unit, and going to loud clubs, and now, at 50, I've got nothing above 12k.

I've had a constant ringing in my ears for years, because of firing guns without hearing protection, loud concerts and working on a Navy flight line. Is that bad?

My man's blackberry charger made a horrendous squeal that only I could hear. Apparently it was 22k Hz. Sooooo annoying.

The hearing test on youtube is not a proper test because depending on how it is compressed, some of the higher frequencies may be cut off.

This is probably a much better test as the files, pages and site are all made for the actual hearing test so we can assume the webmasters took compression into consideration.

If you find you can't hear the higher frequencies in any online tests, don't worry about it too much. Your computer speakers suck and producing a full range of sounds. If you are using a good pair of headphones from Bose or similar you will probably hear a wider range because that is what they are made for. In case you still can't, it could just be that your sound card sucks. The only way to know for sure is with a proper sound test with calibrated equipment.

yeah - trying that test on laptop speakers is like trying to drive an F1 race in an AMC Gremlin
