Anyone else feel like a loser because they are too stupid for intellectually rigorous fields?

Are you intelligent enough to define and measure your own intelligence?

i had enough of school after 4 years of university.
They offered me a chance to stay on longer and get my masters. I decided to go snowboarding instead.
B.Sc.Mathematics is enough i never wanted to be in academics. The only other field i would have entered would have been Actuarial Science.

Anyway, we have enough geniuses on this board, i am sure they can belittle any form of formal schooling that exists. You name it and we have an expert here. Quantum mechanics, nano technology. Chaos theory...Structural Engineering, we have tons of those experts here.

I've made over 12k in 3-4 hours online so they can keep their college and 5-20 year loan repayments.

How do you know f you are too stupid for those? Those fields are the ones you actually need to go to school for. Finish the school and if you fail after that only then start thinking that you are too stupid.
And, for example, medicine is not one of those that requires very high intelligence, it requires lots of learning and lots of practice.

Academic law does require intelligence and logic. But the usual conveyancing shit or client smooching that most lawyers do requires nothing like that.

i'm talking about actual and real litigation. sure law school is rigourous, i put my ex-wife through law school.

but that's due to the workload and ivory tower hyperbole combined with the socratic method of learning she's a voted top 100 litigator now, when i met her she didn't know if she wanted to go to college or be a stripper.

once you get past the legal-speak, it simply boils down to who can research the best and couch that research in such a way that it's persuasive to your argument.

Is that even true for you though? I can't say I know you that well, but just the fact that you even question yours at times shows you are at a higher level than most.

I've gone through this from time to time, still do. I've even applied and took a few semesters in engineering. I think it had more to do with me proving that I could do it more than the career choice. At the end of the day I know a LOT of engineers and maybe 1 or 2 of them I would consider of higher intelligence--the ones in the upper tear in the auto industry anyway. For the most part they went through the motions got some work along the way and are successful enough to pay their bills, something most of us here have already done without formal educations. I know a handful of doctors with the same story.

At the end of the day and for the most part, I don't believe we are limited to anything when it comes to learning or accomplishments.

I'm convinced that everyone has some form of intellect that exceeds the norm, they just haven't figured it out yet or ignored it altogether. Mine happens to be in the field of math... and I hate math. I have zero interest in it whatsoever, but I'm scary good at it.

No one is too stupid for intellectually rigorous fields, but sometimes their interests and their intelligence don't agree with one another.
