yes the last 2 weeks have been slower say 40-50% for SM traffic but not my own traffic...in 5 years I think it will not be possible to do the studio model without driving traffic to your own models...low global economy means lower spending and more models online and things will not get better in the next 5 years ect...

new models will have it rough in 5 years time to start a long term career this is the only positive side for studios(unless they are drop dead gorgeous and have above average work ethic and this is 1 in 100)...

there is tons of money in the game only its changing and more and more is needed to make the same $$$...

Have you checked how many models online in the site? Let's say there's 500 models and $500 sales, is $1 per model, if there's 1000 models is $0.50 per model but same money made by site and spend by users.

Im not seeing a considerable drop in per hour revenue per model. I am seeing a drop in model hours but Im chalking that up to summer break. Its a bit harder to get hours out of the girls but all of their tans seem to be improving.

the tip sites have become a joke that is why it is funny...they are not the real reason PVT model sites are seeing less profit...its mostly the bad global economy...the last few weeks on SM have nothing to do with tip sites...

most of the $$$ in this business is from big regular spenders...compare the tip site model to a public beach and the pvt site model to a private beach...what beach do you think the whale will pick?

tip sites attract a few whales and many cheap fucks...just like public anything...

in times of global recession public beach attendance will increase but it will not necessarily mean more profit for public beaches...

the hot chicks, the ones whales are interested in, want to go to private fancy beaches not beggar beaches...

tip sites have little impact on PVT sites IMO...

We have been doing the featured shows for Streamate for four years.

April 2014 was our best month, the best month before that was March 2014.

I don't have any reason to believe that there is a problem industry wide.

The ''freemium'' token websites are not a factor -- the customer base is very different from the premium cam sites (private show oriented). If anything, the freemium cam sites might be seen as boot camps for our future customers ...

It is site specific probably. I will not speculate as to the cause as I have no specific information to add.

So you are saying that streamate has swapped its traditional traffic for a shit load of tube traffic, and that it is following the free sites by allowing free shows with tips.

Now obviously this is not the kind of thing you would ever choose to do.

They are hoovering up the tube traffic, but as this is where the traffic is these days, this model is a necessary evil. The same applies to free shows and tips. No established cam site with a paying customer base is going to do this without good reason.

I am pretty sure that their management would prefer a return to the good old days.

You remember, when surfers were still looking for some porn and were more than happy to pay for it.

Streamate wl's are still in pay site member areas too, just these have low alexa rank. I posted the tube SM whitelabels list as a reply to claim of a decline of streamate traffic, wrongly made comparing steamate.com url.
Everyone wished to return to the old days but running a real business is not like dreaming a fairy tale in free time. I can't speak for SM management, simply they dealt with the most traffic sources they could get, including tubes, so they ended up with lots of tube traffic, simply because tubes is where the traffic accumulated. Now they have lots of that traffic to convert, and this is the same for every other cam program in fact.
Even small cam programs as mine could see that traffic from pay site member areas of old style tgp's shrinked or gone, also there's myfreecams, cam4, chaturbate's and bonga's around anyway, you can't undo these sites, like you can't undo tubes.
Should we be terrorists, all the tubes and free cams sites should be bombed and put offline, then, we could discuss about doing it the old way
