Finding A Domain Name Nightmare!

I spent tons of money developing software for a major online portal. The portal-website has no name! There was some names my friend sent me and one is the best according to most of the people I showed the domain name too! This short 1 word made of word domain name has the letter Z which I hate the letter Z and I don't want to register it!

Now I found some 2 word domains not as catchy as the one word one but they don't have the letter Z. I don't know what to do I'm going crazy trying to pick one of the domain names and trying the best I can to avoid the one with the Z. Obviously the one with the letter Z is the best but WTF do I do pick the boring 2 word domains that aren't as brand able to satisfy my OCD cravings?

Also what sites do you like to use to find awesome domain names?

I have a 4-letter pronounceable .com, without the letter Z in it. Hit me up, let's haggle.

Listen guys, it is never impossible to find a dot com solution but you have to be inventive. If you're going for short 3 or 4 letter, then expect to buy it in the aftermarket. That's a reality check......

But why not invent something and just register it....

I hit the Urban Dictionary when I was looking for mine. I liked it because it sounded weird, and also sounded like a well-established company (Badpuppy). Now, it's become my Performer Name as well, and I meet guys all the time who recognize it. It doesn't get searched much, but I get lots of visitor loyalty.

I brainstorm domain names into paper, check those availability, and I do that as many times as it takes to find good and available domain name.

You might want to try that.

You can always find available good names....... ALWAYS.

I think ive heard so many other people talk about this. I found so many myself and some of them are real money earners that nobody thought to register. You want a dot com right? You want short?

Unless you can loosen up your 4 letter requirement its not gonna be easy. Almost every decent single 3 and 4 letter dot com must be registered.

i make a list on paper and hit a registrar and of course they are all taken but if there's an available one i don't register it because if it's available it's worthless

not as crazy as your Z letter thing but close, i admit

Decent? They're ALL taken. Letter-only and no dashes of course.

Hmmm well you'll have to take something longer unless you want to pay someone.

If you PM me with the subject matter and I understood it, maybe I could give this 20 mins and come up with some suggestions of available dot coms and fire them back to you in PM but they would be longer ones though im sure.

While most good names are long gone or snapped up the millisecond that they drop, there are some very high quality domains that slip through the cracks and are available at reg fee. I recently picked up a gem, a generic 2-word 8-character .com. The hyphenated .com is owned by a major company and even all of the less popular variations of the term are long gone.

Why would anybody spend "tons of money" developing a "major online portal" without even knowing what domain it would live on?

Fear of the letter Z doesn't sound like it is your biggest problem.......
