Who here Juices....Their Veggies that is?
Hey Guys,
Anyone here Juice their veggies? I am interested in trying it out and not really sure of a good juicer I should buy, any recommendations? I broke my jaw a couple of weeks ago so my jaw is wired shut and I am on a liquid diet. Just been eating protein shakes for breakfast then soups for lunch and dinner (all though a straw LOL). I am losing a ton of weight so looking for ways to increase my calorie intake.

I've been coveting a Vitamix. This is the model I want https://vitamix.com/Commercial/Produ.../The-Quiet-One But I can't quite bring myself to pull the trigger on the expense. If I had my jaw wired shut, though, I think I would. That sucks. Get well soon.

Vitamix is supposed to be the best, but I get by pretty well with my Ninja. That thing is like a fucking wood-chipper and it only costs around $150. It'll make snow out of ice cubes in 2 seconds.
Buy your veggies frozen bagged. Nutrients are flying out of the fresh veggies as they sit on the shelf and/or in your fridge. you can also add a good powdered greens supplement, like Garden of Life Superfood.

I had a juicer and didn't like it, gave it away. I use a nutribullet currently and it does the job for veggie/fruit smoothies.
My friend uses the ninja and loves it. |

I have the Breville juicer, highest model. my current juicer is a pain in the ass to clean so i don't juice as much as i used to. i just started the Nekter juice cleanse to kick start my journey back to juicing.

I make a huge shake for breakfast now along with 1 1/2 cup of oats and frozen fruit. You can not tell that there is uncooked raw oats. Everything gets completely pulverized and turns into a nice smoothie. We got ours at Costco for $400 on sale...best investment ever. Plus you can make hot soup with it too

You can probably throw a brick into it and it would turn it into dust.

It does get pretty loud but then again I'm loading the thing up with ice, and frozen fruit. Even the covered ones are loud, its more the material inside the blender making sound vs the motor. You really dont need to keep it on for an extended period of time since it can make a 32oz shake blended to perfection in about 20-25 seconds

Went to run up my basement stairs and slipped. By jaw broke my fall, so broke it in two places part of my jaw was sticking thru my gums. Plus fucked up some teeth. So once the wire comes off the jaw it will be a visit to the dentist to get those sorted out. I am lucky i did not lose any teeth. Just cracked a couple.

Don't go with a juicer. Get a blender. Make it a Vitamix. Don't cheap out for the Blendtec.

I make one with frozen cherries, strawberries, sweet potatoes, carrots and apple juice that's awesome. I bought one of these and it was so good I have modified it and make it with fresh fruits and veggies from the Farmer's Market.
And if you're contemplating a Vitamix, just do it. I fought against spending $600+ on a blender...but it's been worth every penny. |

In your case, the Vitamix or Blendtec would be doubly useful.
You can use it to make soup. https://www.vitamix.com/Find-Recipes...Dinner%2CSoups |

Vitamix is great I always thought a $500 blender was nuts but I use it everyday, so it's definitely worth it.

If you grind up raw oats you make oat flour. It is not bad for you whatsoever.

Why Vitamix over Blendtec? It seems like a tie to me spec-wise, plus the Blendtec has the Wildside Jar and is more squat (fits under cabinets better). The Vitamix seems tall and wobbly.

Honestly if you have ever been in a real kitchen or restaurant they 9/10 times use a vitamix over blendtec. Vitamix is more of a manually controlled blender where as the blendtec is a set it and forget it type with different modes and all sorts of buttons. As for the pitcher size...this is what led me to get the vitamix over the blendtec. Wider the pitcher the less consistent blend or you have to stop it and scrape the food off the sides. Since i deal with a lot of powders and dried material the funneled pitcher of the vitamix was what i wanted. I havent had an issues with a wobbly blender and i fill this thing up to the 6 cup mark every morning and leave it running while I go about my morning. Theyre both great machines.

The vitamix and Blendec are equals. Both do a great job. However Vitamix did try to copy the Blendtec design and got hammered in court. So Blendtec seems to have edged them out just by a hair. I think starbucks switched to blendtec a few years ago. I just bought a Blendtec and still have to unbox the fucker.
