The best part of the show was the first 5 minutes showing what happened to him after the end of breaking bad. I wont spoil it.

Show looks interesting but not sure if Saul can carry it. He's more like comedic relief. Maybe it will get darker as it goes along.

Most boring part, I wanted to skip it. That could have been said in 10 seconds.
Ps: I already forgot how did BB end for him?

Yeah, I agree. Although the cameo at the end of the first episode makes me think we will see a lot more of the old cast from BB, which will definitely carry it, at least for the BB junkies.

He used the services of the guy who makes people disappear. (Robert Forster's character)

It looks like Breaking Bad...and that's a good thing. I loved the "injury negotiation" scene with Tuco.

By the way, what did he provide for so much cash?
What was the benefit of going through that guy instead of just getting fake identity (for MUCH cheaper) and relocating yourself?
Not hating, just trying to remember what was so special about that expensive service.

Also - it does not make sense to provide a new job where you interact with lots of customers in open public setting, much higher chances of getting recognized.

Well he seemed to have the document thing down as far as passports, etc. I don't imagine it is too easy to get fake passports and ID that looks completely legitimate, but I really have no knowledge of how that works. lol.

Also, if you remember how much effort he put into hiding Walter White, he had a piece of property for him to use that he knew was safe, was making scheduled deliveries of supplies, etc. all at great risks to his own freedom if he was to be caught.

In the end I just think they probably included him in the story because it sounded cool to have a character that specialized in hiding criminals and giving them a new identity, similar to the "fixer" character played by Harvey Keitel in Pulp Fiction who handled problems for criminals like a professional.

Cant say that I was too impressed. I haven't watched the second episode and probably wont. Seemed like they were just grabbing at straws.

First episode was a little boring but it looks like its gonna get real good. Wouldn't be surprised if Jesse comes back and to see Walt's family. I loved seeing Mike as the garage attendant.

I was also less than impressed but I did watch the second episode because you have to remember that one of the things that made BB so great was the depth of character development and that takes time.

True, we know the main character but we are now seeing basically the "back story" that made him the man he was in BB.

You do have a good point there. Maybe I'll watch the second episode and see where it goes from there. I do need some new shows to watch.

I thought it was fantastic. The news I read about the show was that there would be regular cameos throughout the series. Badger and Skinny Pete being confirmed.

I thought it was pretty good for a start it looks like some things are gonna happen in the future. Worst part is Saul looks so old and tired in this show its hard to believe him as a budding young lawyer trying to find his place in the biz.

Maybe he started late as a lawyer? Or at first he was with 0 ambition and only lkater in life decided to build something for himself?
Does not bother me a tiny bit, his age irrelevant for me

Watched both of them, similar sentiments to yours. Found it confusing with the flashbacks, why tie it to BB , let it stand on its own

And what is the problem if tied with some characters from BB? It is before he met Walt and probably before Walt even started the biz so aside from familiar character nothing is tied, all those characters could carry on their unrelated to BB business

It's a spin off of a successful show - thus the tie in.

That is the only reason I've committed to watching the first six episodes before drawing a solid conclusion on whether I'll like the show.

I found BB to be very drawn out the first few episodes. Most disagree with me. I was late to BB and only hung in beyond the first few episodes because everybody kept talking about how awesome it was. Without that reassurance I would have never hung in there until it got good.

What I had read (I guess this will depend on how long the show goes on) is that will cover everything up to and including all the stuff that happened during BB. I imagine there was a lot more going on with him in that time that we don't know about. Supposedly many of the BB characters will make cameos.

personally i have mixed emotions on the tie ins. on one hand, as the show was born of another, tie ins make sense.

problem is, i feel like im watching vince gilligan copy himself. So far nothing is new. the cinematography, pace & characters are all BB.

if the entire series is going to copy the BB playbook, i will lose interest, because following an unhinged meth maker is a lot more interesting than following his lawyer. Id rather watch BB season 6 than a copy of BB on a weaker premise. & right now, the most interesting character is mijo, not saul.

Not sure, I imagine, a prequel would be the one where they show everything from Walter's perspective... Now Walter is not in the picture at all, they just have some characters who were known to Walter. Which may hapen when it is set in the same town.

Plus the prequal is what happenes "before" while this one is more of a "parallel" timeline.

Not sure If I agree with you on the parallel. Seems like its a flashback of sorts, him currently working at Cinabon and going back in his mind as to what got him there ?

Of course it is/will be parallel time line, kane also said the same thing:

"What I had read (I guess this will depend on how long the show goes on) is that will cover everything up to and including all the stuff that happened during BB. I imagine there was a lot more going on with him in that time that we don't know about. Supposedly many of the BB characters will make cameos."

Prequel time line would be the one that starts way before the BB events and ends also before BB events.
Not to mention taht prequel would be following Walter..

I found BB to be very drawn out the first few episodes. Most disagree with me. I was late to BB and only hung in beyond the first few episodes because everybody kept talking about how awesome it was. Without that reassurance I would have never hung in there until it got good.
I was exactly the same Obviously it turned out to be the nuts, and I'm already in a different mindset with BCS than I was as a complete newcomer to BB, and am liking it so far. Always liked the character, and I really did lol at the part in episode 1 where he found the skateboarders, they asked how he found them, and his line "I know, eerie, right?" as the camera panned out on the skateboard park

I'm escaping into it rather than looking for plot/character holes etc etc (I seriously can't understand the lengths some people go to when looking for things to gripe about, but there ya go) and so far so good

if the entire series is going to copy the BB playbook, i will lose interest, because following an unhinged meth maker is a lot more interesting than following his lawyer. Id rather watch BB season 6 than a copy of BB on a weaker premise. & right now, the most interesting character is mijo, not saul.
This, I think, is going to be the shows biggest hurdle. We know how his story ends (at least to a point) and we know some of what happens to him. So, in theory, much of this series is going to be back story for people that we already know and we already know what happens to. That is going to make keeping it fresh and interesting difficult.
