Yea it's totally Amazing that Iran doesn't trust us.. I mean fuck we over through their govt, shot down one of their civilian airliners and have had sanctions on them for who knows how long.. Fuck I'd want nukes too if I were them.. Perhaps Obama is doing the first sensible thing in years.. By ignoring right wing war mongers and giving iseral no special treatment because they are as much to blame as everyone else for the instability in the MI.

Well, USA (not yet USA at the time) got religious refugees, like the puritans you mentioned. But there wasn't religious tyrannies in Europe at that time, kinda opposite; that why more extremist religious folks run away (they were persecuted). At the time of Columbus there were inquisition in Spain, but that didn't reflect much to North America, or that much into South America either.

To sum it up; religious differentiality wasn't popular in Europe. You know, if you were different you got harassed. But Martin Luther had already made religion as less nuts in big parts of Europe, especially where I live.

but yes your right some of the people that came over were looking for freedom to be puritan, such as the pilgrims. others came over looking to find things to trade. the first colonial millionaires sold tobacco to europe. george washington was born rich, to a tobacco family. most of the founding fathers were the one-percenters of their time.

so its not correct to say the founders were religious nuts, they were truly enlightened when your think about the effect of the church on the state today.
