Hi,
We're looking to move OFF a mysql based database. Too clunky. I'll entertain any & all companies who is reputable and has a great product. Your CMS must be compatible with nats 3&4.

I have just made a setup for Performance Monitoring on a Scandinavian Hosting Provider, where I am polling +9000 servers for QOS data every 5 minutes, calculating SLA's and capacity trends. The MySQL database is running on a Hyper-V REHL guest, with 8 cores and 64GB ram, and it only pushes around 1500/2000 IOPS when its working hard.

So I doubt you are hitting the roof because of MySQL. The problem is most likely poor datamodels, poor code, or a underdimensioned DB server.

You might consider some sort of Application Delivery Controller (Citrix Netscaler or F5 is a good place to start.. but stay away from Cisco ACE).

Moving to a different CMS because of the Database server behind it looks like a decision based on feelings rather than facts.

If you are running away from mysql I would suggest to keep your current system and hire nosql experts to transition it to a nosql databse, sql databases are dead, nosql is the future.

Emailed, although NATS and all our stuff uses mysql as well (albiet you could swap it for mariadb or percona for instance). We can talk more about your needs and exactly why you feel mysql isn't right for you - but most performance issues with mysql can be resolved by changing the db structure, changing the queries, adding indexes etc... It's possible to use mysql with something like sphinx as well.

you should hire mysql guys for perfromance tuning ., i was fed up with mysql slow response and contacted mysql guys , they helped me fix issues and now all my queries are under 0.0001 seconds/.

hire DBA, and see where is the problem, most prolly, indecorrect inde3xes or incorrect settings in conf.,

enable slow query log, keep an eye on log and do accordingly.

every major cms uses mysql or some other sql solutions , you are better fixing current issues, rather than jumping on another CMS. or another SQL , like percona or mariadb.

Our CMS uses MySQL database to *save* the CMS information.
Data is exported to JSON files that can be saved (pushed) anywhere.
This JSON files can also be on a REDIS server, etc.

Duke, I would obviously love to have your business and have you on board with Elevated X long term but if you're hell-bent on not using MySQL that's not an option.

We have a high volume of NATS 3 and 4 users going back a decade and major industry brands pushing millions of video views with large member loads all using MySQL without issues. I hope it's something you will at least consider before deciding it's a deal breaker.
