I started dipping back in my H.S. / College days playing baseball. I started smoking cigs, but quit 15 years ago. I used dip to stop cigs...yeah, I know, traded off one for the other. My justification was at least with dip, I won't be winded and my lungs won't be fucked when I train. Haven't been able to kick the habit since.

With that said, I've been looking into this SNUS shit. They say it's a European thing, and I know there are some Europeans here. What are your thoughts? I use Copenhagen, and Skoal when I want some flavor. But I'm willing to give that a shot. Pros? Cons?

More of a Scandi/Dutch thing I think.

Truly a disgusting habit. One of my son's friends does it and carries around an empty water bottle that he can spit into for times when he is "on the dip" and in a place where he can't spit on the floor. By the end of the night it is filled with a toxic brown sludge that looks like diarrhea from a dying person. Obviously it must provide some pleasure to people or they wouldn't sell so much of it, but I clearly don't understand the fascination. It's like those guys that tie ropes to their ballsacks and hang from the ceiling. It's about the last thing I'd be doing to pass the time, but some people are addicted to it.

Dipping = Snus? Didn't know that. Anyways snus is great - also went to it when i stopped smoking. BTW im European. Might not be 100% healthy but at least it's much better than smoking. Also I get much more enjoyment from snus then cig.

i dipped skoal in HS, i'd chug down a lone star long neck and spit into that empty bottle and open up a fresh long neck to drink. i got those mixed-up one night and haven't dipped since.

30 years ago I used to hang out at a small county airport where some friends of mine lived, one night we were just hanging around drinking beer with another friend of mine named Rob.
Rob wasn't drinking he was chewing Red Man pouch tobacco and spitting in one of our empty beer bottles. My buddies little sister's boyfriend came swaggering over like the big shot he thought he was and thinking it was a full beer grabbed Rob's bottle full of spit and proceeded to chug it.

He spent the rest of the night puking and we didn't stop laughing about it for many years to come.
