Load speeds?

Hey guys, any help would be greatly appreciated!

(would help if any cali/westcoast people could chime in)

Splash | Kendra Sunderland
Splash | Tanya Tate
Welcome | Dominika-c
Welcome | Kylie Morgan

do the welcome pages/sites load quickly?

does the welcome page load for you at the same speed most others would for you? any noticeable slowness at all?

if so, mention where you are located

trying to narrow down any issues

Yeah im familiar with the site, however its inaccurate due to the platform on which our websites run on and how the websites are configured - It waits on data that it shouldnt be waiting on. Pingdom is great for simple/straight forward websites

Hey there, from what I can see, it's slower than other similar pages. I tested from Toronto on my mobile with LTE.

I looked and you have 27 stylesheets - their total size combined is 500megs. Looking at your html, that all needs to be downloaded before your site can render.

Google provides some nice tips on how to optimize your html and css so "Above The Fold" (ATF) loads much faster: Reduce the size of the above-the-fold content *|* PageSpeed Insights *|* Google Developers They suggest using inline css and HTML for the ATF design giving browsers time to fetch your CSS before rendering other aspects of the page.

Hope that helps!

1. say we have a site with static html and some php, some videos and photos. so it consists of some files that load to your computer when you try to open a website. all those files have constant definite size, that can be measured. thats the kind of sites that all those ping tools usually work with. they all assume that once all files are loaded - site is ready. right?

2. now our sites. first we send static html page (“snapshot”) to customer computer in order to render some graphics before the loading. the we send core js packs - that unpack and then start checking what page, menu options and content settings are applied to this particular site, then we check whether we show some live shows scheduled banners, do we need to display any on site notifications, etc, etc. to an end-user the site should be looking as loaded say on the second step - the rest of the processes are running in the background and shouldn’t affect user experience. but all these testing tools - they simply dont know alot of these things.

Its not loading all those stylesheets, if it was loading 500mb of stylesheets, it would take alot longer than that ;)

Dont know how pingom does it , but this one uses tools from two search engines , google and yahoo, so if your site is fine for google and yahoo then it should be fine for everyone . But basically, aim for minimization, i see you use tons of css files and also javascript and there is chance how you maybe dont need half of it.

That's the thing, it is loading the stylesheets. I know you're discounting pingdom but it actually shows the files that are downloaded: Website speed test including 500meg of stylesheets.

There are many different ways to optimize, this seems like the biggest opportunity imo. I've shared it - it's your choice whether you incorporate it or not
