4k Monitor

Bestbuy had a deal on a 28" samsung 1ms response time 4k so I grabbed it.

I used to have an 29" LG super wide screen. I found it to be very narrow from a height perspective.

I'm glad I made the switch, even though it cost about $400ish.

I enjoy the real estate on the screen and how much richer the images appear.

If you're on the fence and can spare it, check out and compare some 4k monitors, even though 4k isn't widely supported, it might be what you're looking for.

I upgraded everything, my whole system, to 4k. I wasn't impressed.

We're you upgrading from a square box TV? (J/K hehe)

Should have bought a 55" TCL Roku 4k TV and just used that.

Unless you are doing some kind of specialized gaming, better off with more screen real estate.

I know what I'm talking about, you should have taken my advice. Now go feel bad about your purchase and experience buyer's remorse.

I was looking at the super-wide screens but many offered only 1024 screen height which I knew would be too small. I want at least 1440 but didn't find any, or any I liked anyway.

The 4K monitors are more interesting, but I think I would like to get dual 32" or 33" or in that range, maybe larger. Still undecided.

Yeah, right now with Prime, $399 (no tax with Amazon).

https://www.amazon.com/TCL-55US5800-...keywords=4k+tv

I won't be getting any new displays for a long time. Eventually I can see myself getting 4, 4k displays covering an entire wall.

I live in a small house, I'll probably turn this into an office in the future.

I don't like everything so small. I'm running dual 27 inch screens at 1080p each. Works good enough for me. If I went for 4k monitors I'd probably have to get glasses to see the text on the screen.

the graphic card won't allow you to upscale the fonts etc?

it's a desktop thing.... my 'desk' is bigger. most apps let you upscale and the OS/video card does as well... I use 2560x1600 on dual 30's. so yeah I view websites at 200%. no big deal really.

28" at 4k sounds too small. Are you using windows scaling?

1080 displays should be fine for a while.

I will in the next few years upgrade to 3-4 4k displays. I'll probably have a setup where a wall in my house becomes my work screen.

I'm just waiting until some of the technology that can run 4k displays to get more robust. Recording software and other software I use (screen recording) isn't 100% with 4k yet.

When you have a 55" 4k display the resolution will be close to that of the 17-28" 1080p monitor or Pixels Per Inch.

Visual TV Size Comparison : 55 inch 16x9 display vs 28 inch 16x9 display
