There is one issue when comparing private schools to public schools. There is no doubt a kid can get a better education going, as you put it, to an elite private school for $12,500 per year as opposed to the $11,500 for public schools. Here's the issue with comparing the two. Private schools get to pick and choose who they want to let in. In many cases, they have rigorous application processes. They can cherry pick the best students who have the most involved parents. Public schools don't get that luxury. They have to take all students. This includes kids with learning problems and behavior problems. It includes kids who came from shitty schools before and are badly behind and kids who come from families where the parents don't give a shit.

Throwing money at the problem isn't going to help. We need to understand the different needs of the masses and figure out a way to provide those needs so everyone can get the best education possible without holding those who might excel back because those who are slower are in the same classes.

Truly I think to your comment "why black people are so upset' there is a pretty easy answer, they don't have equality yet and they should. Full stop. It has improved greatly but they aren't there yet. Tough to debate that really. I also disagree that anyone will fight for porn. US Government spending is running at $15,000 per person. Therefore a person has to contribute $15,000 in taxes to break even. A single guy earning $20k clears that line. A man with a wife and two children has to earn $80,000.

Any migrant who can't contribute more $15,000 per family member, shouldn't be allowed in. That immediately blocks anyone who will do a job an American can do. Which bans all those NY taxi drivers I met so often. Also shopkeepers unless they bring something to the table that can't be supplied by an American shop owner.

America used to have a great Green Card system that applied those rules. What happened to it?

Now we have the problem of looking after the retired and unemployed. So add whatever that percentage is to the $15,000. Probably over 20%. And yet some are for more migration.
