Buying Fiverr Content & Avoiding Ownership Disputes
I'd like to buy some mainstream content on Fiverr and know that in their TOS they state that all copyright and intellectual property rights belong to the buyers. Question is, what if 6 months down the road the artist files a DMCA for the content I just bought from him because he changed his mind, or, what if someone steals my content and claims it as theirs and then files a DMCA against me. How would I protect myself from situations like this. What proof is needed? |

				 | You can only prove that you paid and were granted license. Just like stolen merchandise sold to a pawnbroker; it is forfeit if evidence in a theft -- then returned to the rightful owner. Caveat emptor. You are just given 'safe harbor' by fiverr If what you bought is DMCA or claimed as copyright that you have not paid the rightful owner for licensing rights -- you are just plain screwed and out $5 Use your best judgment. I would insist on the psd xcf svg or ai file if i was spending money and unsure if it was original art graphics. |
