Unemployment dropped 6% under Obama - cut in half - and it was "horrible". Unemployment drops .3% and now everything is great.

What is really sad is people look at something, a set of facts, and walk away with completely different ideas of what they are looking at.
workforce participation stopped going down, the unemployment rate has fallen from 4.8 to 4.1 under Trump. That's better

Food stamps is down to it's lowest since 2010, that's better

The stock market is up over 25%, unlike under Obama using quantitative easing , it's based on the forecast of the economy. That's better

Consumer confidence has reached a 16 year high That's better

And not much of what Trump has done has taken effect yet, this is people betting on the future. The last two times presidents did a tax cut, the economy boomed, both under JFK and Reagan, more people worked.

You say nothing has changed, maybe you should step outside and look around. Here in LA if you want to do a remodel on your house, you have to wait a year for someone to have the time and most that are doing it don't seem to have a contractors license.

If they're going to do a tax cut, it needs to be based on a fiscally sound analysis. This bill is a political sugar high which may make some people happy initially, but won't amount to any long term sustainability.

It's a Republican wet dream...and that is in no way a good thing because Republicans are almost always wrong about everything. Just ask any of the democratic administrations in the last 25 years who had to clean up the messes of Republicans chasing the trickle down unicorn.

BINGO.

Everyone with a brain and not a political agenda knows that the first and last year of ANY 1st term President is suspect. Why? Because the first year they are riding the momentum of the previous Prez (especially if that previous Prez was a two-termer) and the last year they are campaigning to get re-elected.

I wonder why Trump supporters are so intense about being RIGHT. Why? Because they secretly fear, in their hearts, that we have a madman-child in the Oval Office and the world could go BOOM at any moment because of him? So they insist, over and over, that TRUMP IS GOD. It's really pathetic (and dangerous).

You are aware that Trump spent the first year ERASING all the regulations that Obama put on business.

The economy didn't just coincidentally stay at 1.5% GDP for Obama's tenure and THEN suddenly jump to 3% when Trump took office...or do you really think that?

Anyway, the orginal premise of this post about 2 million kids losing healthcare turned out to be another LIE by anti-Trump people.

No facts, no reality. Just pure emotional agonizing.

Meanwhile, the economy is roaring right now. Everything Obama did has been rolled back.
But you still believe it's his "policies" that just coincidentally caused this? Even though Trump has erased them?

You don't think it MIGHT have anything to do with the Energy industry being unshackled by Trump in a historic Executive Order he signed a couple of months ago (I'm sure none of you watched it because you aren't interested in business reality)?

Or maybe the removal of Obama-Era regulations on business that were keeping things stagnant? Trump has done all of these things on television with more transparency than Pres. Obama EVER displayed.

Or perhaps the knowledge that Pres. Trump was pushing for the Corporate tax to come down to a level that makes the United States competitive in the world?

I am shocked that some of you guys seem to have ZERO idea of how the business world works.
Or maybe you do, but you are so blinded by your hate that you are willfully ignoring the truth.

Personally...the tax cuts are GREAT for me. Not only my personal taxes...but my business (Corporate) taxes.
And I'm not even an amoeba-sized company compared to true big business.

The numbers are in guys. Stop whining. Stop melting down. Stop HATING. And start building a better future for yourselves and your families.
Opportunity is here.

Get real Robbie. Very little of the shit tRump tried to undo undid anything. Just because he signed something did not make it instantly happen. It's just smoke and mirrors. I'd pay closer attention to what tRump actually accomplished, which is very little, if I were you. Some of us do pay attention. Spin it any way you want, tRump is a loser big time and so are we. I bet you just love the new tax plan don't you?

Actually, the 1st year of every ew sitting potus is riding on the budget set forth by the previous president.

It's a common thing, we won't see the "Trump effects" until next year.

Yes that was my point. Let's wait a year or two THEN we can tell what effect Trump has had on our economy and society.

Democrats after 8 years of sub-3% GDP growth under Obama-> “3% growth is impossible!”
Trump after just 1 year in office -> We just hit 3% GDP growth two quarters in a row.”

Sure Ruff, we all "know better" LOL!!! The Dow Jones has hit record numbers 70 times this year. Obama's AVERAGE GDP growth was a measly and pitiful 1.48%.

1) There was no other viable option.
2) He's accomplished SO many amazing things. Get out of your CNN bubble.

Admit it guys: Robbie is spot on. Trump has been fantastic. There's simply no reason not to be happy with his performance.

Disagree? Name one thing he's done that's bad for America. Anything at all. Take your time, I'll wait

Hope everyone has a fantastic holiday season

Isn't it wonderful that the policies of Obama were able to guide America thru what should of been one of the greatest recessions your country ever had. Yours and most Trump followers ignorance of this, sadly just highlights how successful he was.

All western economy's are booming, nothing to do with Trump. The USA does have the Trump boost, I will give you that, problem is running a country is not a ratings game.

Other countries can also lower their taxes.
Other countries can open themselves to resources rape and pillage.

Remember those things when your handed a 2 trillion debt.. owned by the Chinkease.

But no jobs have come back have they, and in order for them to do so money will need to be borrowed, and when lots of businesses try and lend more.. interest rates go up, which hinders further investment.

The whole trump tax plan presumes the rest of the world will stay in a status quo, and that's simply not the case.

For America to be great again, what country does it need to trade with the most? Where's all this money coming from again? Who has the trillions Trumps requesting? and what country will these big businesses get their funds from???

WRONG AGAIN:

• Under President Trump, nearly 1.7 million new jobs have been created.

• 159,000 jobs have been created in the manufacturing industry.

• 57,000 jobs have been created in the mining and logging industries.

• The unemployment rate has fallen to 4.1 percent, the lowest in nearly 17 years.

• Thirteen States have reached record low unemployment rates.

Do you choose to ignore facts? Or do you choose to believe fake news? Either way, you're simply mistaken.

I love that this debate on the economy boils down to feelings and facts. Truth is the economy is doing better and the stock market always looks to the future 6 months. Liberals wouldn't see an improvement if it bit them in the ass and I find it funny that anyone in this industry can be so blind as to not be able to read stats.

So people in the US are responsible for 13% of the carbon in the atmosphere which 95% is not from Humans, like cars and trucks and stuff and they want to spend trillions to fix it while Solar Panel plants are powered by coal plants
think about that

The stock market has gone up because Trump keeps removing the safe guards that were put in place after the last crash. The stock market is booming because these ceos know they have another cash grab on their hands so its a free for all until the Trump crash comes...

The Trump crash will come in the next 2 years when reality sinks in that Republicans have added 1.5 trillion to the national debt and the economy doesnt make up for the lost tax revenue due to the tax cuts. When there is no money to fund the budget it all crashes..

This is nothing more than Reaganonmics and that ended up crashing and burning as well..

I find it funny that you right wingers always seem oblivious to history...

Do you choose to ignore facts? Or do you choose to believe fake news? Either way, you're simply mistaken.

Germanys unemployment rate in 2010 was 7.4%
England's unemployment rate in 2010 was 7.9 %
And The USA was 9.8%
-
In Jan 2016
Germanys was 4.4
Uk was 5.1
And USA was 4.9
-
2017 July
Germany=3.7
Uk=4.2
USA=4.3

So you understand it? Unemployment has been falling all around the world, its not a Trump phenomenon its been going on for many years steadily falling after Bushes fuckups were recovered from.
--
here in Australia we basically have full employment, actually rate runs from 4-6 %, but you will NEVER get full employment, anything under 5% basically is because there will always be that 5% who won't work at all, or are unemployable.

Yes unemployment has dropped under Trump!!! It dropped a whole 0.7% the same trend its been on..

On a positive note it looks like Trump is going to have to allow in a lotta immigrants when he's stimulating the economies while at 4.1% unemployment.

And not much of what Trump has done has taken effect yet, this is people betting on the future. The last two times presidents did a tax cut, the economy boomed, both under JFK and Reagan, more people worked.

All of this has to do with Obama, and none of this has to do with Trump.

Obama came into office with a 10% plus unemployment rate and an economy in a tailspin. You sat here and argued about how bad the economy was, even when unemployment hit 4%.

Nothing changed. Trump did nothing. All of the numbers you quoted have been heading in the right direction for the past eight years. Trump had nothing to do with any of thing. It's stunning that Republicans suddenly think our economy is great and that Trump had anything to with it.

My god, man! It's stunning that you believe this. Where do you get this stuff? Rochard, by your own admission, you get news from Rachel Maddow and probably CNN, NYT, & WaPo. These are known purveyors of anti-Trump hysteria. They lie, you fell for it.

Bladewire, you know I like you. When you post about real things -- business, technology, photography, coaching models, parenting, etc. -- you always come across great, helpful, reasonable, kind, intelligent.

But, man, your political baiting, you are so off base and, unless you are a paid poster for the Democratic Party, I don't understand what you get from it.

I went to a super left leaning university for undergrad, after going to a DODDS high school. When I asked other students why they acted like the very name of the Republican incumbent was a punchline, they guffawed and said I must be Republican. I was 16 and asking a real question. My grandfather was a Democrat delegate, so I was not preinclined to be GOP. My classmates could have truly impacted my views, if they had an answer. You just reminded me of that.

I voted for Obama (the first time only) and more recently for Gary Johnson. You want to tell me you know what I believe better than I do? I'm sure Vendzilla knows his views better than you do.

Trump donated equally to Democrats and Republicans before running. He was the first elected President to ever fly a Pride flag on the campaign trail. All the people who knee jerk rejected him and loudly said they would resist everything and would not appreciate Trump no matter what -- those people made it so the rest of us are going to get worse policy.

I didn't vote for Trump, but I sure appreciate his administration repealing Operation Chokepoint. Can't believe more supposed professionals don't care about that.

Semi on topic, do you have a good industry friendly tax/finance person you'd recommend?

Why would you stick up for Vedillza guy who tried (but failed) to get rich by talking donations from old ladies while claiming he was helping get Hillary elected.

Now it doesn't matter who he claimed he was supporting the issue is the whole thing was a scam. He and his group were lying to people with only the intention of making money for himself.

Vendzilla is one of the biggest scumbags on this board. I don't give a shit if he was a minimum wage board mod for a while... He ended up being a scumbag scamming people out of donations to a political campaign which he never did a thing to support....

He's a fucking scumbag. He said on this very board he was trying to get rich from it.

Business has had more cash reserves than ever before and no one is running to raise wages or hire more people. The market went from 7k to 18k under Obama. Thats pretty much a boom, there was more wealth created than ever before.

Here is what a billionaire business man has to say

https://www.bloomberg.com/view/articles/2017-12-15/this-tax-bill-is-a-trillion-dollar-blunder

And when all those regulations taken away start creating a mess the gop will blame Dems like they did for the banking crisis.

Listen up feeble one, the majority of the people in this country do not like your orange moron for a president mainly because he is grossly incompetent. Everything you recite is the result of the Obama years. You can't put lipstick on the pig tRump. But you go ahead with the rest of you sycophants and keep sucking the tRump cock. You can't possibly be THIS dumb. How does posting facts equate to neo-nazi bullshit?

Conclusion: Ruff hates America. Move to Venezuela or Cuba, libtard. You'll like it there- no stress from any elections.

Hey Ruff: If "the majority" of the people don't like the president, why did he win in 83% of US counties in a MASSIVE LANDSLIDE?

Serious question, why do you believe Trump and his supporters are scumbags? Like, what has he done that's so terrible? Be specific, i'm open to new information.

Fyi dec 2008 obama wasn't president. Bernanke who is an authority on the great depression started it and Obama being smart kept him.The president doesn't tell the Fed res what to do so you know.
Quantitative Easing 1 (QE1, December 2008 to March 2010)[edit]
"On November 25, 2008, the Federal Reserve announced that it would purchase up to $600 billion in agency mortgage-backed securities (MBS) and agency debt. However, these purchases were to have no impact on the balance sheet, and would have been sterilized by Treasury sales by the SOMA desk. On December 1, Chairman Bernanke provided further details in a speech. On December 16 the program was formally approved by the FOMC, however their approval was not required as the SOMA desk was already authorized to acquire Agency debt and MBS as part of their OMOs. On March 18, 2009, the FOMC announced that the program would be expanded by an additional $750 billion in purchases of agency MBS and agency debt and $300 billion in purchases of Treasury securities. These purchases would be unsterilized and this date more appropriately marks the beginning of QE in the US.

Can't wait to see the kinds of cancers our children will have to deal with. But, hey, GDP is 3%!

Other countries can also lower their taxes.
Other countries can open themselves to resources rape and pillage.

Remember those things when your handed a 2 trillion debt.. owned by the Chinkease.
sorry to correct you - it is a 20 TRILLION not 2 trillion dollar debt.

the debt per citizen is actually around 212.000 dollars (that includes kids and homeless people)
only the interest on this debt is near to 8.000 dollar per year and citizen (again including kids and homeless people)

but this is just the top of the mountain.
US unfounded liabilities in total are at 107 TRILLION and the liability per taxpayer on that
is 904.000 $.

i donīt know if people like trump and his supporters simply can not calculate or if they close their eyes from the truth.

At the time people said the economy under Reagan was BOOMING. And it was - for the rich. The $ did not 'trickle down' like they said it would. In fact, it never does. The rich get richer and the poor and Middle Class get a hardon because they think (wrongly) that someday THEY will be rich TOO so it's ok.....madness.

Trickle down economics: don't piss on my leg and tell me it's raining. The economy is "booming" but not for us.

Weird how the wealth gap got so much worse during the 8 years under President Obama isn't it?

The rich got far more wealthier and the poor far more poor under his administration.

And yet...I don't recall any Porn Nerd posts full of outrage and indignation over that fact during Pres. Obama's tenure.

That's strange. I would think that if you were just a big hearted soul whose only concern was for the poor...you would have been pissed off big time at what happened to wealth inequality in this country under Pres. Obama

But don't worry...a roaring economy with trillions of dollars repatriated from corporate tax cuts, will allow people to get good jobs and have some dignity again.

GDP at 3% and growing! Obama said that 1.5% GDP was the "New norm" and we would never grow again at this rate.

Thank goodness that kind of big govt. horseshit has been proven wrong once again!

Merry Christmas...and get ready for an even more prosperous New Year for our nation.
