Old Man Trump hates firefighters and trees

The Trump administration is planning to cut over a thousand jobs — including many wildland firefighting jobs — in what’s thought to be the largest federal jobs cut in a decade. The move comes ahead of another wildfire season and amid threatened halts to financial assistance following deadly fires last year.

The latest attempt in what appears to undermine wildfire preparedness includes ending a federal program that trains young people for jobs including wildfire fighting, while at the same time withholding wildfire reimbursements California officials say are owed from last year. All of this serves to deepen the feud between President Donald Trump and West Coast states over disaster assistance. Meanwhile, multiple states are preparing for another brutal wildfire season based on current federal projections.

In an announcement buried on the Friday before the Memorial Day weekend, the Trump administration announced that it will end a program under the Forest Service, run by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). The Job Corps Civilian Conservation Centers (CCCs) train young people between the ages 16 to 24 in rural and disadvantaged areas for jobs including wildland firefighting and forestry, in addition to disaster recovery. The 25 centers are predominantly in the South and West and located on federal lands, with more than 3,000 students employed by the program.

The fires here in California, that happened on federal government land, happened because we didn't have enough government workers to take care of the federal land due to lack of government funding. The fire wouldn't have been even close to as bad as it was if we would have been able to trim back, cut down old grown & rake the forest.

But the ignorant Trump supporters here will do anything to support what he does because that's what they always do with no knowledge the facts.

Trump is doing this specially to hurt Cali because he knows fire season is near. This is the the type of person we are dealing with..

President Donald Trump was recently ridiculed for telling California Governor Jerry Brown that the Golden State should do as my country does. Trump critics laughed at what some called his “bizarre” claim that foresters in Finland “rake” areas that have been thinned or clear-cut, to remove leaves and other debris that could otherwise start conflagrations like the recent tragic fires in California.

The Washington Post spread similar misinformation. The Los Angeles Times carried an article by Finnish “green” journalist Anu Partanen. “Finland to President Trump: We don’t rake the forest floor, but we do other things you should emulate,” the headline read. Late night talk show hosts had more fun at the President’s expense.

Ironically, all this happened at just about the time that Finland’s own forest specialists declared that Mr. Trump was correct about what he told Governor Brown. The foresters disseminated that information widely to the Finnish media and public.

Some how I think California is more closely aligned with Australia when it comes to weather and forests, and fires, might be why every year hundreds of Australian fire fighters go help those in Cali and they come here in our fire season, they also share major equipment, and of course preventive fire ideas.

Finnish forests are under fucking snow for 6 months of the year.. while ours and Calli's are under drought.

I've never heard of them "raking" a Forrest here, I'm sure its a tool used where it's suited but that's in a very minimal of situations.


Our own firefighters cite the major difference is when a house is on fire here you rush in and put it out, where as in the USA there's so much ammunition exploding because of Americans gun culture that often you have to stand back, and let them burn because its not safe to go near.
