Doesn't happen to me anymore - Even if a physical problem were to occur, say a tree fell on my internet line or something, Id just turn on my phones hotspot and use that.

A better question would be what do you do in a power cut, when you can't willfully use your devices that are battery powered as you cant be sure when you will be able to recharge them?

I share a cable junction with a few other houses in my neighborhood. Every time a cable guy comes and starts messing with it to help another customer, my internet goes out. It's happened 5 times and the cable guys always act like they had nothing to do with it and I should put in a service call...and wait a week for another guy to come out and fix it.

the last time it happened I blocked the cable guy's truck and wouldn't let him leave until he went back to the box and fixed my internet that he fucked up. He got out of his truck and went to the box and fixed it.

The Internet doesn't go down. I get my Internet from my HOA for free, and it's very dependable. Everything we do is online - surfing, TV, video games.... In the event it does go down I use the hotspot connection on my cell phone.

I haven't lost full connectivity in 5 years. When my home Internet went down I did like Chris and use my iPhone as a hotspot.

What is nice to do though is to completely disconnect once in a while. This summer I went canoeing a few times on a lake and left my phone behind. No Internet, no electricity, no hassles. It feels great.

At home once in a while we just turn our phones and TV off, make some finger foods and enjoy a bottle of wine by the fireplace. No tech. Sweetness.
