Hello guys,

So I started coding some porn gallery scrapers with python as a hobby, I was able to get more than 6k galleries of high quality. And now I decided to create a website to browse those galleries. The website still under development but the core feature is ready to check (Browsing galleries).

The website is built with the most modern technologies currently, It’s running on Nextjs server side rendering reactjs hosted with cdns. Backend server database is cached with redis and also served via cdns. The site should be fast

I will like some opinions on how I can improve the site. I still need to add a lot of stuff, for e.g: links to the actual site from where I scraped the gallery, filters, search and more.

Unless you have an agreement with the content-owners(doubt it) you are not using the content legally, and could very soon end up without site and domain

Thanks for the reviews. Im still pretty new on the industry and I don't know much about the legal stuff I need to take care. this website is just under development, not published yet.

If I remove the ads and I link to the actual pay site everything should be fine right? I just did this as a hobby. I don't want to have any legal issues from my hobby xD.

I shut down the site for now. to avoid issues.

Please let me know what should be the best way to proceed.

I checked the site and it looks and works fine.

As long as you don't publish the full sets but just 15-20 sample pics per gallery, and add a link to the actual paysite, you should be fine.

Maybe I should reduce resolution of images by 30% and add at the top and bottom of the gallery a text like "Check full HD images on -> paysite"

If you want to start making some money with your hobby, register for affiliate programs of the websites where you got the content, and use affiliate links ;)

No, you still need permission or a licence from the copyright holder / author to make copies and publish them.

I am surprised how many people don't understand this.

Why do you think people buy / shoot content? With your logic anyone could download illegal copies and make paysites with them... instead of throwing out $20k.

Actually, I think the content im scraping is promotional material. MetArt images for example are low quality and have a watermark specifing that is not the original image. But I still need to review the sources carefully. Otherwise I will try to join those affiliate programs and dump the galleries I cannot publish.

Even if the pics were from their own galleries, that automatically doesn't give you the right to copy them and store them on your server. Linking to content and copying content are two different things.

You should ask them for promotional pics you can use on your own site. It's the exclusive right of the author or copyright holder to give permission to copy and publish his content.

If the company allows downloading their pics from their FHGs and publishing them on affiliated websites, then there is no problem of course. But since linking to content and copying content are two different things, he needs permission to use the content this way. Maybe they allow that in their terms.

He is taking the content from FHGs. If the sponsor provides FHGs for affiliates it doesn't mean he gives permission to copy the pictures and use them on your server as separate files - unless they explicitly state they do allow that. (from strictly legal point of view)

Say the sponsor use licensed content and that licence doesn't allow them to make copies for third parties. See the difference? ...same for scrapping it by affiliates without permission.

Most affiliates just grab the content from FHGs and use it on their website without asking. 99%+ of the programs don't have any problem with that (it saves them bandwidth) as long as you use the content to promote their paysite. If they do agree with that, there is no problem. This dude should have asked them first for sure but he didn't even bother registering as an affiliate before stealing the content. I saw penis pills promoted with content from Free Ones on that site.

Your site looks very nice. Check some similar sites to see how the affiliate model works so you can monetize your efforts. Plus you don't want to get on the wrong side of the content owners.

About freaking time for someone else to come up with nice nextjs websites. proud :D
quick tips:
1. combine all js/ css files, you now have a lot of requests, just bundle them up. nextjs can do that
2. don't host with vercel. you'll end up using their 1TB really fast. Use something like digital ocean, you can start with their cheap version, about 12$ per month, same easy deployment as vercel
3. Don't open the links in new tabs. keep them in the same tab and take advantage of the preload feature of nextjs links. you can have instant page switches. take a look at my site (excuse the first click, gotta have a popunder, otherwise i'll starve)
but after that navigation among pages is smooth

I was thinking the same... I mean people sign up to have the right to use that content. I think in that context, that is not scraping but more hacking/stealing.

I watched a training video on scraping once, more for keeping updated on the latest prices from different sites... it is a fun tool but must be used responsibly.
