Give kudo's to the ex for saving her life but got me thinking if I would do the same to any of my ex's or just let nature takes it's course.

1:43 PM PT -- A source with direct knowledge tells us it was Lisa Marie's housekeeper who found her unresponsive in her bedroom. At about the same time, Lisa's ex-husband, Danny Keough, got home from taking the kids to school and performed CPR until paramedics arrived. Danny and Lisa have been living together for quite some time now.

Lisa Marie Presley has been rushed to a hospital after EMTs responded to her home for a possible cardiac arrest ... TMZ has learned.

Sources directly connected to Lisa Marie tell TMZ ... paramedics performed CPR Thursday at her house in Calabasas before rushing to a hospital. We're also told they were able to regain a pulse before she was transported.

It's unclear what her condition is at this point, but we know she's getting treatment in a hospital.

I was told years ago, that in the USA someone did CPR on a stranger, they recovered then sued the person for hurting them because the person was pushing on the persons chest to save there life.

Not sure if it was true or not, but I suspect people think walk away rather than get involved and end up with legal problems. Even if it was your ex.

Besides that, your ex may have left everything to you in there will and not got around to change it. So you may be best to not do anything.

This is why a lot of states have "good samaritan" laws so that someone trying to render aid to another cannot be sued for it. Otherwise nobody would help anyone.

can't fathom harboring hate for someone with whom I spent so many wicked years. granted, the separation was more a 'we want different things out of life' situ. no violence or abuse etc. even if that were the case, I'd hope I'd do the same. but if he had been abusive I wouldn't still have any contact with him anyway

first learned CPR when I was a teenager doing street outreach, that was a required aspect of training and glad I learned it. I performed it once, when a chica was OD'ing and non-responsive, breathing sips of air so just tried to keep her going til the ambulance arrived. that was at a club I worked at, not street-level. would she have lived if it was just me? prob not, but kept her going til the experts showed up (she lived and I didn't save her life-the medics, docs and nurses did)

would do that for anyone, except for Putin. maybe with that sociopath I'd offer a pillow for his face to help hasten the process

I'm guessing most peeps here aren't sadistic and bitter monsters so imagine the responses will be in the affirmative for human decency. but for the others, if they exist here, maybe a follow up question might be: could you (not 'you' OP, this is rhetorical) look yourself in the mirror the next day if you stood by and watched someone die? even writing that gave me shivers of the totally unfun sort

I do agree that CPR is a good skill and also that a life is a life no matter who's it is in that you do not wish that weight on your conscience of having to had the ability but refuse - All 50 states and the District of Columbia have a good Samaritan law, in addition to Federal laws for specific circumstances. Many good Samaritan laws were initially written to protect physicians from liability when rendering care outside their usual clinical setting.

Even with my own ex who was not exactly a saint in any respect - I would likely start doing it for the sake of her kid then honestly move to her as a human being. I may flinch at first (likely a second) but would race to help despite person feelings. No one wants that karma nor the idea that I could have done more.

That being said I do understand those who say that if you're caught up in a legal matter where you're owing tons of money to that person greed would take over - others thinking that they could get in trouble (not the case) - human's have grown more self over the years to want to dive in much less risk their lives to help someone... even if it means no risk at all.

Am I lying or making it up? certainly not - case being how many see someone desperately in need of help and their first reaction is to pull out their phone to take a video. We rarely step in to help - even if it isn't life and death.

There are very strong good Samaritan laws that protect you from this, so I am not sure if it is true. They may have tried to sue and just slammed into that wall. As a former certified EMT you almost break a rib or two doing CPR if you are doing it right.
