Hi Folks

I'm Beaky from Pink Metallic - After years of being a hobbyist and contributor to the open source WACS Adult Content Management System, I'm trying to see if I can turn content production into a full-time professional role.

General advice also very much appreciated - the commercialisation aspects are all new to me. I've been shooting adult content since 2006, so that bit isn't new!

These days I shoot productions exclusively in 4Kp50 (could do 4Kp60 if needed), normally with three cameras, with a focus on Lesbian, Toys and Masturbation sets with lingerie and unusual outfits as recurring themes. I have also done a number of outdoor countryside sets including drone shots.

My production style is very much more like network television than movies with bright studio lighting, rapid cuts between camera angles, tripod mounted cameras, smooth in-shot zooms and a full music soundtrack. I use music licensed from Epidemic Sound so it is copyright cleared. I do also keep all edit files on my Edit Suite so I can provide custom branding or re-edits on request.

I have already uploaded some clips to bentbox (Studio name pinkmetallic) and clips4sale (Studio name pink-metallic) but with limited success so far.

I'm based in Chichester on the South Coast of the UK but do have full model release and ID records suitable for 18USC2257 available for all sets I've shot. I'm also happy to shoot to order as required.

Anyway I'd very much like to start a conversation with people in the industry on how best to move my business forward. And if people are interested in licensing my content, please do get in touch.

Thanks for all those suggestions. It's an option I could consider - so far clips4sale is forcing me into higher pricing than I'm really comfortable with for some of my more "straightforward" single girl masturbation sets. And to be honest, so far it's not selling at all well.

I mean I'm comfortable with the quality of them as sets, I just look at them and feel I wouldn't pay what equates to the monthly subs for a major adult site for just one clip. I currently have something like 15 productions "in the can" and I'm just editing no 6 now.

I'm going to continue to post updates to the clips4sale site (and others), but I'm really not feeling like it's working unless there are a lot of people out there who'll pay the $10 per clip price for something that's just a little unusual but not extreme niche.

Conversely I don't feel I can produce enough new content to the quality level I wish to to make a good value proposition of my own site. Hence I feel like I need a different avenue and that's where licensing seems like an option I should explore.

you´ll see many people will pay $10 to $20 for an exclusive scene at clips4sale and sites similar, manyvids is also a very good site for clip sales...

sign up to all of the links I gave you, and start making over a grand a month


look at the now and the future, so keeping your content as your own for now, once you have a larger collection, you can create your own paysite and then sell this, possibilities of 10´s of 1000´s or more.


You could start filming for companies now, but then the content is lost to those companies as exclusivity and the one payout is all you get.

Different things work for different people, but personally, it´s nice having a steady income and even when you stop shooting, you have your content bringing in the profits

My advice would be to use wordpress.

Before you do anything, do this site as it looks like it has not been touched for years.

I would use pinkmetallic.com as your brand name.

Then work on your content.

At the moment I am not 100% sure what you are doing content wise.

You may be best hiring someone who can do the camera work, as he/she is probably going to produce something MUCH better than the shaky camera work in your clip. And as such you will probably make more cash with the content.

Perhaps you could post recent pics and vid samples of your work.

My thought is you could produce a cosplay site. But buy are rent high quality costumes, and shoot in good locations.

The chap seems to be not doing a armature site (but even if he was shaky content is still not acceptable, though if you believe it is, that would not be giving us confident about your content.

I presume you have been on his site, then again perhaps you have not and again were too keen to get your spam in.

If you did go on his site, what did you feel he was trying to produce?

My feelings was that it was https://www.baremaidens.com tripe content.

As such do you Gary feel that content should be amateurish or done well? Please give us what you think about this?

My feeling is that many onlyfans models are producing pro content in the form of cosplay. Many have invested thousands in a single costume. This has rewarded them in making a lot of money.

I will find your reasoning interesting Gary if you feel this is not the case.

By the way, if all you can do is post spam and abuse I will ignore you. As it just makes you look bad and if that is the image you want, then so be it. But I do not wish to involve myself with someone such as a spammer and someone who posts abuse.

Just trying to catch up here. First, let's clear up one misconception, the only open access clips on the pink metallic site are from 2007-2010 - they are absolutely not representative of the current production style or content. To see trailers of the current productions, you need to look at either bentbox or clips4sale - those are the modern 4K studio content.

Yes, I did do a lot of cosplay stuff back then which is very reminiscent of what baremaidens carries - I am a great fan of that site and really like their style. I would very much like to do more in that vein, but I need a solid income stream before I can spend the extra time that that kind of content requires.

All the talk about wordpress and the like is kinda noise - I've been a wordpress admin for decades and know the system well. I choose to do my own hand-crafted HTML but to some extent this just emphasises my reasoning behind looking for a distributor and not trying to do it all myself. I want to concentrate on producing content, not messing about with uploading, web design, affiliate links and all that other stuff. Yes, my style is "old-fashioned" - I am "old-fashioned" - I've been writing web pages since 1991.

So... I am still asking my original question - how and where do I find distributors for my productions?

That is if you plan on selling it on.

You may find some distributors will buy from you if your content is good enough.

However I have seen over the years people with great content struggle.

My advice is do a website with examples of your content.

That was the old branding back when swords and guitars were major features of the shoots. It was kind of a double entendre about the name and the themes (Swords, Electric Guitars, etc). I've removed that branding from the archive site now - it's all the standard branding now. I might bring it back someday if I return to more of the cosplay style of sets for those.

I have ZERO interest in updating the site design. It's a landing zone for the content and nothing more; there is nothing I find more unbelievably tedious than web page design. I've been doing it for over 30 years now and viewdata before that - each new trend is slower and more unnecessarily complex than the one before - and I simply hate it. I wasn't at all impressed with BLINK when Netscape introduced it when they first arrived to take on Mozilla and if you ask me it's just gotten worse since! :-)

I'm interested in shooting videos in new and interesting ways, not in bashing out some fancy-smanchy web page that's just slow to load and does endless pointless animations.

And yes, that's absolutely why I have next to zero interest in designing sites for direct to customer sales, that market thrives on that kind of stuff that bores me to tears.

I watched the clip of the lady outside walking.

While it is better than your older ones, it is not great.

It looks to be shot using a drone and possibly a gimble and possibly just with an iphone.

A lot of the footage seemed pointless.

The model does not look happy on the vid.

Even the masturbation is not sexy.

The song seems pointless.

It feels very low cost.

I was expecting some high end production with a Hollywood style content, and great costumes.

If your looking for a firm to buy your content to resell it, it needs to be quality.

By the way, you need to practice with the gimble or drone content, as when you go from left or right you stop and start in a very jerky way. In your settings you may be able to slow that down.

It would have made a big difference if the model looked happy, possibly dancing through the fields rather than walking as if the last thing she wanted was to be there. And possibly shorts and a t-shirt rather than the black dress.

I presumed that the content was going to be cosplay stuff with swords as this seems popular at the moment.

As for your site. You could do a wordpress site in ten minutes. Or at very least have a single page made that is attractive.

Why does the website matter?

To put simply it is the first thing your customers will see. And at the moment it looks like you do not care so they will not buy from you.

A few years ago, my friend had the same attitude to his shop. He looked bad, no effort, nothing spent on it, the result was few customers.

I went in and smashed it up with a hammer. I made him make it look nice.

The result was his shop made a LOT of money.

The truth is I look sat your site and it looks nasty, lazy, no effort. The message your telling us is you cannot be bothered and have no cash, and want to do things cheap. Your telling us you do not respect your customers enough to give us a nice site.

In the same way, if you went past a fish and chip shop and the floor was greasy and the signs a mess and the staff not interested in you, the chances are you will walk next door to the one that is clean and the staff look after you.

So you have to ask yourself, is the first thing people see of you is a great site to make them think they are dealing with a pro, or do you want them to think this chap has no idea what he is doing?

To be honest, I am a bit insulted that your saying you cannot be bothered. I cannot believe you are posting that you cannot be bothered to do something that would take you an hour or two.

This is your business. You should be making us think wow.

If you want it simple, remove the header & use just black header text, remove the 2 images either side, change the width of the page to 1200, remove the black background, so the page is white. Change the colour of text to black and have the 2 vids displayed.

The opening shots were shot with a drone, yes. I have seen very few other productions which include drone footage. It is one of three scenes I have in the can which include drone footage. The rest of the footage was shot with Panasonic 4Kp50/60 Pro video cameras on heavy duty Manfrotto tripods. No iPhones anywhere near it.

She'd just barely recovered from Covid. I did the best I could with the performance.

You can lead with the negatives as you seem to have chosen to do, and OK, that's maybe how you feel. I'll bet however that you haven't seen anything similar in the last week or maybe even the last month. I'm trying to get out there and do something different - something that breaks the mold - something that's memorable.

They are a brilliant site and I love them BUT I know they have had lots of struggles financially and often the models donate their time for the "artistic" production having been paid for shoots with the same crew on far more mainstream movies. Unfortunately their combination of production values and revenue doesn't add up and they do what they do for the love of it.

No gimbles used.

Yeah, I've gotten better with the drone in the 10 months since I shot that. It was my first attempt shooting a person using a drone. Still, there were reasons I shot it the way I did - the model is a professional boxer and her poise and demeanour definitely played to a more "brutal" theme.

Boring! Just what proportion of outdoor shoots are in that kind of outfit? Almost all of them.

This outfit is a mix of workout clothes and lingerie - neither quite one nor the other - but it was something very different from the norm and that is what I was trying to achieve.

So yes, I understand you're being critical, but at the same time I challenge you to say in all honesty that it isn't something unusual and different from the vast majority of what you see normally. It may not be your cup of tea, but I'll bet you'll remember it much longer than the rest of the last ten adult videos you watched.

Yeah, they are "busy". It may be time to ditch them and simplify.

Bad advice - never, ever, set it to a fixed number of pixels - that is guaranteed to look crap on many platforms. Proportional sizing is harder, but is much more reliable for good layout.

Not a fan of pure white; given the site name, a soft pink would be fitting. :-)

I certainly need to think a bit about what the messaging is - the current three-way is too busy. That is a good point and I'll think on it.

If so then you need to produce content that many sites will want.

I have shot that type of stuff for years, it is quick to do *see my blog for sample pics).

But I shot it to entertain myself, not to sell on.

It is not that I do not understand what you are meaning, as I do. However I think your trying to do something that needs a team, with skills than a single person. For example, someone to edit and colour correct correctly. Someone to do the sound.

What your doing is fine IF it is just for your own site.

However IF you plan on selling your content, then you need to think that it needs to appeal to a lot more people.

But you should have not done the shoot with the model looking so glum. It would have been better if she needed a bit more time off as her glum look and her body movement just spilt everything. If a model was like that with me I would just stop the shoot and rebook, rather than waste my cash and time.

I am going to tell you what I would do if I was you.

Forget hoping to find someone to distribute your content. While someone may, I think it is unlikely, because I have seen people with big budgets and pro content not find people to buy.

Those that seem to sell seem to have huge budgets and a lot of people working on the content. Some will think nothing of £50k shoots.

Of course if you get someone to buy then great.

If it was me, make life simple for yourself.

Put ALL the stuff you have shot on your own paysite.

I use https://modelcentro.com/

They do everything basically, and costs you nothing (they host, they do the billing, they do the website). All you do is upload the content.

They even have an affiliate thing for webmasters to promote your site.

Put all your old content up plus new stuff.

As for new stuff, shoot what you want.

If it was me, I would do something like the content on https://www.baremaidens.com/

You can use your domain name too and use this as the website address. So no hosting fees.

The only thing you need to do is change the look of the theme you select to the style you want.

This way you can shoot the content you wish to shoot and make money.

As I say, over the years I must have seen hundreds of people hoping to come on gfy.com and sell content and hope to make a living from shooting content for others to buy, only to find no one does.
