Best advice for someone shooting their own porn and selling it?

Hello everyone,

I am currently in the process of setting up shoots with pornstars to create my own content with, I am going to be working with them through agencies and everything regarding models is above board.

My plan is to create a brand around niche content and start an OnlyFans as well as sell this content on platforms like Manyvids, once I have over 10 videos I plan on launching my website where the videos can be purchased.

I plan on promoting clips of the content on subreddits, porn sites, tube sites etc branding all of it funneling them to get them to purchase.

The camera I am going to use is the Nikon D3500, would this be optimal? I'd love to hear some suggestions, also what camera is best for POV content? As I'd like to add other angles to the video.

My questions which I would love to discuss with you guys are:

- How many models/videos should I have under my belt before launching? Should I launch as soon as I have 1 video? Or should I have as many as I could?

- Is there any other paperwork needed aside a model release and 2257 document?

-Can this still be very profitable down the line and worth the time/investment?

-Aside from professional cameras, is an Iphone still viable when shooting POV content?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you guys.

I made a poost many years ago, but you can extrapolate some of the information, and scale it up (or down) to 2024...

Yeah an advice: go to see a physician and buy Viagra. This is gonna put your gauge in the red zone 🦠

My only contribution here is: be 110% precise on the paperwork on every single shoot.

That way you don't have to dump content later like thousands others before you

If you are unclear: ask a lawyer, best investment you can do. Better than any camera.

Choose a story style you love and your editors love to work with. If its Gonzo-action, then all your stories need to be written and shot that way. Amateur looks cheap and appears to require no scripting, but making a Great amateur site requires deliberate planning and consistent design.
You seem focused on production, and that’s awesome! Get someone who is even more focused on your marketing and sales- your models are your best promoters, so have your marketing partner coordinate with their channels on every video. New stars are hungry, so use that energy!
The first goal is 10 members, 1 month. 100 members, 3 months. 1000 members, 6 months. At $10 per month or per video, thats a good paycheck to start. If you aren’t hitting these numbers, then your site or content or revenue model needs to change for the better.

Hope this helps,
Entrepreneurship is awesome

And the traffic to get all those sales, always 10x-ing, comes from where?

In your opinion, how many models should I aim to have content with before launching the OnlyFans and site?

Another quick question I'm hoping you guys can help me with.

I am currently having issues working with porn models through agencies as they are telling me I need to have a running website.

The issue is how can I start the website without girls. I feel like finding talent in my area and starting this way could be risky.

What would be ideal here?

The bigger niche market is in "Fresh" amateur (read: non-pornstar content)

Why do you think OF is so big?

I suggest you go the OF route, bro.

Since you're into the adult niche, why not think about being the MANAGER of several of model accounts you run?

Last I heard, even a small time outfit poaching traffic of Tinder to offload to a SNAP account can bag $3K a week. Not too shabby for a one man operation.

Thanks for your response, and I honestly tried but had no luck finding talent to manage. That's why I switched my plan to what I stated before.

It would be ideal to find one steady girl to do OF content with, and have content with other girls as well. But I am having a hard time finding fresh amateur talent.

Any advice on this?

Serious advice: contact Michael Fattorosi from Adult Biz Law. I have worked with him for many years and he really knows his stuff. He can help guide you through the minefield that is 2257, AI and the current state of documentation required for shooting.

Read my lips

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A STEADY GIRL IN PORN

Where are you located. What agencies did you try. They will be a little suspect with newbies as theres so many creeps and scammers out thyere and its all about protecting the models. Took me awhile to get credibilty

Also if you are new... think about it. what model will want you to manage them they could just do themselves.

Yeah I agree, it would just be ideal to upsell content through chatting, I'm in NY. I've tried a few agencies in LA such as ATMLA, all of them are open to working once I have references.

My other resort seems to be very expensive especially in my area, there are escort agencies that have pornstars which allow recording and I can post/monetize this content. But the prices for just an hour are a bit too high doing it this way.

I feel like you’re lining yourself up for a very expensive lesson.

Shooting porn is kind of the easy part. The hard part is selling it.

OF will not give you traffic.
Having a website won’t give you traffic.
Buying traffic won’t work unless you know exactly what you’re doing
Don’t count on the girls to promote you. Once they’ve got their money, expect them to ghost you.

So how do you plan on getting traffic? You should have a solid gameplan before you shoot a single frame of video

Thanks for your reply. I agree you're 100% right. I come from a marketing background and have gained traffic in the adult space for affiliate/cpa purposes, using X(Twitter) and Reddit.

I also have a solid tube site network of people I have worked with, and just started my own. In no way am I saying I know the same methods I've used in the past will work when I have my content but I strongly believe I can gain some traction, the problem for me really is content.

To be completely honest it's always been a dream of mine that I never worked towards but I truly believe I can make it happen, and am willing to go through the ups and downs to gain experience.

Originally what I had in mind was my own channel/site/OF in the same style as Euro Babe Facials (but in a different niche) or Woodman style but with my twist.

Again thank you guys for your input, feel free to give me the harsh reality as this only helps me, and any advice or pointers would be greatly appreciated. To be honest I really want to make this work, I could care less about failing.
