If a webmaster HAS to add a reciprocal link than this is a request for a link exchange, not an appeal for people to add their sites to fill up your directory.

I get lots of these "requests". Directories with no authority asking for thousands of sites with authority to 'add their site' . Why would anyone do that?

It's under the guise that one is not engaged in a link exchange but simply filling out a directory script .... 'oh and one little tiny thing is to add a recip link but let's not focus on that'.

This is a link exchange request plain and simple. I am tired of these requests, taking the time to look into it only to find out later that I have to add a recip, which they don't mention right away.
