She died because some asshole let his greyhound loose in the early hours of the morning, the cat was out, and that was it...

Shit sorry to hear that, I've lost more than one cat that way...
Luckily we could shoot the dogs with buck shot, not kill them, but they got the message...

RIP lil' Kitty

same thing happened to me when i was a kid...

had to identify the body at the vet, they removed the head already so they could test for rabies. It wasn't bad enough that their dog killed my cat but they had to decapitate it after also....bastards hehe

I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. It breaks my heart when I lost a kitty, they are so much my babies.

Last time I lost a pet to someone's dog, I marched up with my dead animal to their front door, banged on the door with tears rolling down my face and explained to them how my pet died. They thought I was nuts until someone went looking for the dog that "never goes outside unless we're with him" and they couldn't find him. When said dog was finally found, he still had blood on his muzzle.

Again, I'm sorry. You might let the owners of the greyhound know what happened to your cat. Try to take it easy, I know that's not much help, but try.

I feel for your loss, in fact I can comiserate with you. Monday afternoon one of my bulldogs smashed thorugh his cage and went and smashed into another dogs cage and they went at it for several hours. When I got home that evening, the whole house from the ceiling to the floor was painted in their blood. Needless to say, it's been pretty sleepless week for me. Luckily the other dogs and cats were untouched.

Again, my condolences...

It happened in the early hours of the morning. A neighbour phoned our house and said to get round, some asshole has let his dog on our cat.
I was out all night so just found out a while ago off my dad.
He was out at 4am this morning looking for the bastard.
Needless to say we'll be out tonight looking again...

I have lost 3 cats and decided with my next, that I would have him indoors only. I have had him 5 years now and no emergencies.

I am so sorry that you are going through this hard time. When you think of that guy, just remember there is something called KARMA that he will have to deal with.

OH! And pay back is a BITCH!

My cat died this past weekend and it sucked balls. I'd had him for 8 years. That said, don't keep the kitty inside at all times if you've gotta yard. I kept the cat inside for the first 3 years of his life till my gf convinced me to let him go out when I moved to a place w/ a yard. His life was so much better. He loved it outside. Cat's lives are short enough. Let them decide if they want to have a more exciting environment. If they go out and they don't like it, they'll stay in. Better life is worth the risk.

i feel for you. i had a cat for 14 years who was such a friend to me. when she died, i was devestated- really. so many memories with her in them...

getting another cat won't replace the friend you just lost. but perhaps the company will still help you out.

i have not had an outdoor cat in over 15 years. i had two cats hit by cars, and one died of a disease he caught outside. it's hard to keep the cats in at first, but they get used to it.

I am sorry to hear that you lost your pet. We have two cats and they are our babies. I definitely suggest getting a new kitty - you will be saving a precious life and gaining a new friend. And try to keep cats indoors at all times, as a safe, loving home is the best environment for a long, happy life for your pet.

More than you know, anytime you lose a pet and allow yourself to grieve for a week or so, go get another baby.

You will get all wrapped up in the antics of babyhood you cannot dwell on the loss of the former pet.

It works everytime!

Yep, that's what will be happening for sure.

Damn this day sucks. 14 years.

A cat's life expectancy probably isn't to far off of that, but it's just the way, that after all those years, some bastard (who was seen) DID walk up our lane with the dog, and set it on her.

I had the unpleasent task of moving her into another box just there.
Worst thing I've ever seen...
