Too general. They don't consider it adult and won't allow adult sites to sponsor the term.

You're sort of right. Google determines whether an porn sites can advertise on a term based on the type search results that show up. If the majority of the results are pornographic, porn ads can be displayed. If the majority are educational the porn ads won't be shown. Sex has flip-flopped in and out of our campaigns rather frequently. Its a big word but relatively low quality traffic.

I was just doing research a few weeks ago, that "niche" terms had higher ppc costs than "generic" ones :-)
