How do I correct this Internet Explorer problem?
Whenever I left click on a download link (zip file), the file starts downloading automatically without prompting me to OPEN/SAVE. It doesn't happen with any other file type, only zip.
Like this: <img src="http://www.hotlinkpro.com/fuckshitpiss.jpg"> I can right click and "save target as" but that's not always an option (i.e. when the zip file is linked by a form button). I'm using IE 6. I hope someone can advise, this is pissing me off. Thanks in advance... |

thanks, but that doesn't work. ![]() irishfury, I don't use any kind of download manager or accelerator, I don't like them. I know this lack-of-OPEN/SAVE-prompt problem has been caused by me accidentally unchecking some kind of "always give this prompt before downloading" checkbox when downloading a zip file in the past. I just can't find a way to undo it. |

i think this may help
http://beta.experts-exchange.com/Web..._20618802.html Basically this what the link says For Windows 98 Click "Start" -> "Program Files" -> "Windows Explorer". Then click "View" -> "Folder Options". Change to the "File Type" tabs. Scroll down to locate the file type. Highlight "WINZIP FILE" and click the "Edit" button. Then check the option "confirm open after download". For Windows XP (Assume the file type is "ppt") Click "Start" -> "Program Files" -> "Windows Explorer". Then click "Tools" -> "Folder Options". Change to the "File Type" tabs. Scroll down to locate the file type. Highlight "PPT Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation" and click the "Advanced" button. Then check the option "confirm open after download". Click "OK to confirm. |
