Are there any mathematicians here?

Is there anyone that could answer this for me?

Takes the numbers 1 - 14.

Now combine them in groups of 8 ie. 12345678, 12345679 etc.

How many seperate groups of numbers would there be with no 2 groupls containing the same set of 8 numbers?

It's not a test. I really need the answer.

If I read this right, that would be 14 choose 8.

Something like 14! / ( 8! 6!) = 3003.

Whoa, I didn't know google had a calculator. And it does combinatorics? Sweet.

Quick explanation:
14! is the number of orderings of 14 distinct objects. Say you want to pick 8 out of 14 distinct objects. Then you have 14 ways to pick the first object, 13 ways to pick second object, ... , 7 ways to pick the 8th object = 14*13*...*7 = 14!/6!. But these are non-distinct groups, ie. some of the groups are just ordered in different ways. If you have 8 objects, you can order them in 8! different ways. So then you have 14!/(6!8!). Hope that was somewhat coherent.
