I was informed a few ago...Fellow Adult Entertainer ShannonGetsit from http://www.shannongetsit.net, a long time friend and mentor, has been seriously injured and remains hospitalized in crital care in a medical induced coma with a low chance of survival after suffering 4th degree burns over most of her body as well as internal damage.What I was told...Shannon suffered an epileptic seizure ( a lifelong condition she was medicated for daily) while cooking and her angora sweater caught on fire. This has really hit us hard and makes us realize how precious every moment is. As I know more I will keep you informed.

I'm so heartsick over this. Shannon and Dave were very active in our local swingers community in PA, as well as running a very member interactive website and filming frequently on the West Coast. i am sorry to be "harsh" here, but i for one just can't take anymore of these begging threads.

bad things happen daily, if that happened to me - i wouldnt go begging for donations, i would sort myself out and get back on my feet, why do people resort to letting other people sort out their problems

pr0 deserves help and Heather hamptons does, but if we all did this the world would be a terrible place

Shannon and her husband Dave are super-nice human beings; she called me last week to let me know that she'd be in LA in a couple of weeks for porn shoots. This accident is tragic and heart-breaking.

Shannon did a fantastic anal creampie in my "Knee Pad Nymphos, Vol 5", a video that was the recipient of an AVN Awards Nomination for "Best Oral-themed Feature" of 2003. That is so sad. The medical bills will be enormous for many, many years to come.

It is at moments like this that I am so thankful to be Canadian. When tradgedy strikes the last damn thing you should be thinking about is medical bills.

Below is a copy/paste I received from a writer for Excitement Magazine (she covered the BJ shoot that Shannon and I did during the Vegas Show). Again, the below references to "Dave" is Shannon's husband.

This is an emergency medical matter for one of us, not a nice-to-have-thing like the boob job we were asked to contribute to a couple of weeks ago in a thread from someone else. I'm sending a check to the below address, and hope you will too; if you can't afford even a small check, please at least contribute some prayers for Shannon

The following/below is the email I just received from the reporter/writer (I've edited out her last name, though). I had sent her a copy of the initial posting in this thread and she emailed me back saying the below. Cindi is Pro-Adult and VERY thorough, so I trust the below to be accurate.

DAve, Thank you for sending that, Unfortunately it is true. I talked to Dave and several of their friends today. Here is the posting that is going out-

Adult Star Shannon Getsit Seriously Injured

I am very sorry to report that Adult Star Shannon Getsit was very seriously injured on Monday. Shannon was cooking dinner on Monday afternoon when she had an epileptic seizure. The sweater she was wearing caught on fire. Her husband Dave smelled smoke and ran to the kitchen where he got Shannon to the ground and put out the fire. Shannon was medi-vacted to a Hospital?s burn center in Allentown Pennsylvania. Shannon has suffered 4th degrees burns over 40% of her body. Dave tells me that right now Shannon is in an induced coma and medically paralyzed. She has a tracheotomy and is on a ventilator. She will be kept in this condition for 20-30 days to give her body a chance to begin recovery. Once Shannon is brought out of the coma the prognosis is that she will spend several months in intensive care and at least a year in physical therapy. Dave was also injured in that he has 2nd and 3rd degree burns to his hands and arms, which he received while saving Shannon. Dave and Shannon have no health insurance and are going to need our help to get through this long and expensive process. I am waiting for more information as to where we can send monetary help. A couple of Dave and Shannon?s friends from their local swing club are setting up a bank account. As soon as I have an address I will post it. They are also setting up an webpage and an e-mail address. I will update you as soon as I have the info. Dave, of course, has much more important things on his mind. As he said to me during our phone conversation ?Shannon is alive, and we?ll take it from there?

To send financial help for Shannon and Dave make check out to Monica M Smith, in the memo section write Shannon?s fund, on the back write ?for deposit only.? I?ve been told that the reason the account has been opened in Shannon?s friend?s name is because if Shannon has the account in her name it will make her ineligible for any government help.

Shannon Getsit's husband Dave left me an answering machine message yesterday saying that Shannon is still alive and the doctors are hopeful of her surviving, though her recovery will be long and tedious if she does make it.
