9 months old ??
But as someone pointed out its 9 months old now so its of little if any use. It dose point out how vulnerable adult sites are and perhaps someone will see this and come up with some better security software. Because from all the ones i have tested they are all lacking in one area or another !

That list is a huge waste of time. I was happy to see at least one of our member's sites on that list. The real question you should have asked yourself: who isn't on that list? That's pretty much the entire adult internet, in case you didn't notice. You don't think we have iProt? Yep, we do. Doesn't protect against a proxies that well. The smartest password traders can slip in and out undetected. It's the dumb ones that trip iProt protection.
(Still waiting on that Strongbox installation *hint hint*) You can also bet that some of those passwords are literally traded. Someone went through the trouble of purchasing a membership and then *trades* for more passwords. Very economical. haha Brute force protection ain't gonna help with that problem. Don't bother updating the list. Unless you're just very, very bored.

Many members areas will get brute force attacks 24X7 and also attempts at locating every type of script to help gain access to your servers -
password protection scripts such as pennywize is a must - But, the worst thing any web site can do is to allow members to choose their own passwords - Members are not in the slightest bit security concsious and couldn't give two figs if their user/passes are abused (Because everybody on the planet knows them), in fact, they demand their cash back when they are and the passes are removed - Issue your new members with user and passes which included numbers, lower, upper case and symbols - Then let brute forces waste the whole day to get nothing. |
