It would depend on what kind of server?

It's like asking how fast can a car go?

800 mhz processor, 20 gig drive, NT server, I just need a rough estimate. I'm not much for the hardware knowledge.

Well, I will want the most that is humanly possible. So if that meant getting the biggest motherboard then I would do it.

It is a T1 connection right now. But, I will eventually switch to a T3 when it poses a problem. My site is still fast.

microshit server, lol. Tell me about it. The only reason I use NT is that's what my affiliate software uses. It's the only software I could find that would count .0005/click.

Typical motherboard maxes out at 512MB to 1.5GB of Ram. Some boards can do 3-4GB.

Cool, it's good to know that I can put 3 or 4 gigs on one machine. That should handle over a million a day with ease.

Depends on the mobo.

(assuming Intel here)

BX chipset = 1GB
GX chipset = 2GB

Serverwerks (some) = 4GB

if you have quad processor server (xeon), then obviouslly you'll have some more memory capcity there. Don't expect more than 1GB on a run of the mill dedicated server though. 2GB on a decently high-ended dual PIII box.

If you used a sun server you could put way more then 4G on a box. But never build a server with less then 1G of ram to start

Yeah, my server says I can get a 4 gig board on there if I want. I just went with 2 for now. I'll add on in the future.

sounds like an older board if your running 800 Mhz taking a stab in the dark you can most likely get 1 gig in there, i'd need to see it or get more info to evaluate accurately...do you have the model and brand of the mother board?
