WHo's dabbling in mainstream ?

Been doing adult for a long time now and also gaming wich both do well for me.

I have been working on some mainstream stuff for a lill while now and looks like it's going to take off very well.

Anyone else investing money and time in mainstream ? What are your thaughts about the amount of money to make in mainstream biz development ?

Do you think that applying what we have learned and developped in adult can be transfered into mainstream world and be beneficial for mainstream companies ?

I went from doing 100% adult to about 80% mainstream and 20% adult.

What I use primarily in both is search engine optimization skills and the ability to sniff out a scam. Experience in ad placement, CTR, us of linking and effective design are also the same.

Most of my business now days is PPC advertising

Getting used to peak performance times was a little strange but made since once I got used to it.

Getting more and more into it. Doing the travel thing. We've got a new cruise that leaves out of here and I've been pushing bookings through travelocity using guerilla local advertising techniques.

Really? It's a matter of spending about an hour in the morning and an hour in the evening providing support. Well, for me anyways. My mainstream project has taken off like no other, while I was putting in hours a day in adult with average but not great results.

It's definitely different for everyone. You can get a great idea in adult and run with it, or you can get a great idea in mainstream and run with it. This is why I love working online!

Our company runs both a mainstream and adult marketing firm and there are some differences. on the adult side people do biz with people and a good business man can go with any company and his clients will follow him. there is a lot more sharing of idea's and profits. I find that in the mainstream side people work with a company ...the sales guy can change 3 times and the client still stays because he trusts the company name. It's strange but that's just been how it's been on my end.

Yes!!!

We're focusing on our mainstream and s/w very heavily right now! It's doing wonderful things for us and we're extremely happy with the results we're seeing $$$$$

Virtually all skills are transferrable. It's all about marketing, knowing how to network, and customer service. Job content doesn't really matter, as long as you know how to do what you do well.

BTW have to plug!!! I'm looking for peeps to test out our products in their members areas, as well as peeps who are buying or selling toolbar installs! Contact me PLZ! If you're interested or know of anyone who might be! Thanks

i do and i do pretty good, but many things to learn. Marketing needs different approach and research is more important and more time consuming. Traffic can be very easy or very hard depending on what you market and that's your audience.

Have to agree with you there - mainstream is ahead in a lot of ways but we have a friend who hangs out here and has a jewellry site.

He does pretty well just marketing the site himself but he also has 20 affiliates. The only affiliates who have made sales are the three that also sell porn.

I think that says something.

I have several mainstream projects. I've learned more from adult webmaster boards that applies to any net marketing/design than I've ever picked up from non-adult webmaster boards.

Been doing mainstream for around 3 years and it has its ups and downs. A few features on In Demand Pay Per View Events station and now Viewers Choice Pay Per View as non Adult and under events has helped getting our "Real Wild Girls" brand out .
But the mainstream stores are a pain in the arse . We are in most of them with our videos but getting paid is like net 60 and its mainly on consignment, so if dont sell they send em back . But I will always try and keep going mainstream because there is a ton of money in it .

Started our main stream sites about 5 months ago and sales are great so far which is encouraging. The great thing about our products is we can make a few sales and the profit from them equals and sometimes exceeds our monthly adult sales.

I am 100% mainstream now and there's definately a ton of advantages... some disadvantages as well. I would say the main element I miss from my experience in adult is the cooperation amongst competitors as well as a common understanding of how things work. The largest benefit of mainstream is the willingness of affiliates to try out new programs and work with the affiliate manager to achieve a higher level of success. It's 10X easier for me to convince affiliates to generate more leads for my company in mainstream than it ever was to get them to send joins in adult. The reluctance of affiliates to agree to CPA payout terms is definately another drawback in mainstream.

By the way, if anyone has any mortgage/refi/finance traffic, I'm paying top dollar for volume leads. See sig.

Mainstream is where the major $$$$$ are waiting to be grabbed on the Net.

I'm heavily acquiring main stream domains and ideas for development over the next few years.

I'm developing several major one word mainstream properties right now.

How much money are you guys using to get started with mainsteam. It is something I've been thinking about but not quite sure or what to do. Anyone have any good articles or something to lead me in the right direction?

I have a nice mainstream project in the works right now that when completed will help alot more people get into mainstream profitably as well. Probably when all is said and done I will have about 5k into it. but thats not too bad for the potential ROI.

100% mainstream anymore...

The ROI is far better for time and money invested.
The clients pay net 30 in most cases ( 80%+)
The commissions are paid on time and correctly...

I went from working 18 hours a day at times to 8am to 6pm each day, mon - fri.... pluis returns based on efforts increased 500%..

You have to ask yourself how many hours did it take to make that 150k.... 120 hours a week or 35-40 hours....

I started out with $20. My frist month I ended up turning that $20 into more than I've made in a month at any of my "real" jobs.
