To set the record straight
I must admit I am a little dismayed that some of my fellow webmasters have labelled me anything ranging from tree hugger to pro-terrorist and I do not appreciate showing up on baddog's blacklist. So I would like to set the record straight and please excuse my ego on this one.
1) The attacks on the U.S. on September 11th were an extreme attack by a fascist machine. The ideology behind the attacks is just as reactionary and cruel as any other fascist ideology. 2) What happened on September 11th is hard to put into the words. It was the event of the impossible and hence, unphraseable. To see families of the victims in shock and horror and not being able to find the words to express their grief is truly horrific. There is no comfort and their are no words that can somehow help the families understand this horrific tragedy. 3) Yes, I am located in Canada but I am not patriotic. I do not believe in superpowers or proclaiming that my nation is the greatest. So for obvious reasons, I am not about to proclaim that the U.S. is the greatest nation and defender of the free world 4) I believe freedom rests in the hands of grassroots democratic movements. Their will always be battles between the state and the demos because the state (the ego, the I) needs to oppress to maintain control. Expression is freedom and it is only the revolutionaries that can take expression to its limits. 5) Terrorism has become the organ of the state - not just the Middle Eastern states but all states. The people, the bearers of democracy need to fight this and there are several groups in Afghanistan that do this fighting on a daily basis. http://www.rawa.org is just one of them. 6) To stop terrorism and achieve a real semblance of peace, freedom and true democracy, the state needs to start recognizing the people and ultimately releasing it's ego to the id. Most likely this will not happen but I'm an idealist. 7) My solution would be for all nations (not only the U.S.) to support these revolutionaries and support their fight against state oppression and terrorism. This would essentially be a fight against all fascisms. Particular to the situation at end, I would love to see the U.S. go into Afghanistan and aid the rebels in their fight against the Taliban and bin-Laden. That is the only way to rid terrorism and yet also preserve freedom and democracy. These are just my thoughts. I'm not anti-American, I am anti-fascist which necessarily means I am anti-terrorist. I am pro-revolutionary and I believe in democracy, freedom and the demos. As such I am greatly saddened as such a large chunk of the demos has suffered a terrible fate. These people could have been with us in our fight agains fascism but sadly they are gone. The terrorists are not comrades; the people are out true comrades. |

so then let me ask you this. You say you are pro-revolution so lets say a revolution that you support happens and is sucessful and these revolutionaries take power and you belive in what they say and stand for and so by default you support them. . . does that not then make you a patriot to their cause?
For a country to be sucessful you need to not only have some form of democracy ( 100% true democracy, like true capitolism and true communism won't work) but you also need some defense and a willingness to use it to use your power to defend and better yourself. If bush announced tomorrow that instead of striking back against the terrorist we were instead choosing to send supplies, weapons and training to the afghan rebels and hoping they got the terrorist resotored some type of democracy people would be calling for his impeachment. you say that we should fight facism. . .what the hell do you think we've done TWICE in europe? Also, on one other front you say that you are not patriotic and that you do not say your country is the best, then why do you choose to live there? There must be something about it that you like as opposed to other countries. |

Because he's one of those people that continuously need some sort of cause to protest against. Doesn't matter what it is, because next week it'll be something else. This week it's that revolutionary babble, next week it'll be some owl in Oregon. And the week after that, Gerbils Rights. Some people can never be satisfied.
If his hypothetical revolutionaries took power next week, he'd be protesting them the week after. Idealist? My friend, you are an EXTREME idealist. To the point that is beyond non-productive. It's counter-productive. |

I really hope that you are just joking with some of these comments towards rhizome. Because if you arent, then you are a real insult to the human race. Thought, ideas, logic, other peoples point of view, are obviously foreign to many people on this board.

Rivux, your very statement makes you the very thing that you called us.
"insult to human race" You have every right to state your point of view and we have the right to call you what we think of you, based on your words/actions. If we wish to summarize our reply with a two word statement "Fuck face" so be it... those two words say enough. So, the next time you make a judgement about someone who has said something that you don't agree with... remember what you think of people like yourself. |

Don't speak of freedom in the same sentence that you condemn those who use it. It's both ironic and insulting. |

and even if i did, i would not have adopted it into my vocabulary it just doesn't have very good tempo when used in a sentence but thanks for the explanation |

It's hard to believe you've never heard that term used. There was a time, not too long ago, when I would hear that more often than "hello".
"bling bling" is now the hot saying. I think it refers to some type of jewelry... diamonds or plantinum perhaps. |

Rocky sounds like a plan, but if you want to see the best ag show around then you have got to see the Royal Winter Fair in toronto http://www.royalfair.org/

The butter sculpting competiton is awesome, I couldnt believe some of the things that those people made.
I really loved watching the dog skill competition and the horse show. The thing is its so huge it takes a couple days to really see everything! |

Ontario is one of the best places I have ever been. My husband and I fell in love with London, Ontario and very nearly moved there. We just didn't have the money in the bank that they require you to have.
We kind of liked the whole thing of moving from London,UK to London, Canada. |
