Dunno. I donit work there. Maybe they are upgrading? Maybe they had a problem? I assume they have some sort of a backup system counting clicks even though you may not see them or be able to access them. Then again, assumption is the mother of all fuck ups

Ok,, we have been working on the problem for about 3-4 hours now. Looks
like one of our tables grew to 24 million
rows in the main TCG dbase . That table
was the referring url table.

Apparently our main DB employee didnt
understand that when specs were given to him on TCG3 referring urls were only suppose to be active for 4 weeks for webmasters then balanced archived.

In any case to quickly solve this we turned off first page tracking now until we
can rewrite some code on monday.

All sales were tracked as we also write those to a text file but they have to be imported plus we are adding 10% today to all webmasters sales that will be added to your check.

I am MOST UNHAPPY this happened on Turkey day and even more so by letting it get this far.

We have more than enough qualified people at TCG .

Going to be a good ass blasting day on monday for some people at my office

Thanks JB.

11:30 AM EST. I am still seeing this about 25% of the time when I try to hit the join page of various tours.

Phew, I had a scare this morning when the number of joins was quite lower than expected. At least there's a backup copy of the sales somewhere else, thanks JB!

There had to be alot of lost sales, because I was getting "bad gateway" errors instead of join pages. Cant track a join when the join page wouldnt even load to begin with.

Oh well, this gave me the oppurtunity to do a good test run with AAC.

I am getting sales, but nothing close to what I usually do, nearly 75% lower than usual. I just hope there's a magical data dump floating somewhere where TCG will append to our current sales!

Wiiredguy, sales are going thru just fine
however I am not sure status of the data
dump since the dbase prob of this a.m

We always back up joins with a text file
so when I have a chance to grab my
programmers by there balls I will get it
solved.

Tried to be a good boss this year and
gave my staff day off tomm.

You can bet next year we will be working
day after turkey day ..

No more mr nice guy.

Its been like that for me since PP before last. I usually do about 20 sales (steady since begining) per PP. The PP before this one I did 7 and this PP im at 4. I keep getting told "nothing wrong on our end". I guess its good I never sent too much traffic to that account *shrugs*

Last period I did better than the week before so I haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary. Today is a different story though.

Im not seeing the bad gateway errors all the time. When I left this afternoon everything appeared to be running minus tracking of front page hits. Obviously I was wrong.

Oh well.

Since this all started, I've made a grand total of 1 sale, and that showed up just recently, so I'm really hoping they haven't added the lost sales in yet because my sales for the day are waaay off.

3:12am here and I have 14 signups. Looks like things are fixed.

But yesterday its only showing 5 signups for me and much lower than normal.

I'm sure they will sort it out.

So you're saying you're making 15-25 sales a day with TCG? Weren't they accounting for 80% of your total revenue?

Utah,
I posted we turned off front page click
tracking yesterday.. As MRPHEER said
sales are tracking FINE.

I am about to talk to the programmers
now about turning front page click
tracking back on but as far as sales
everything is on track today.

The programmers have not fixed
yesterdays stats yet but if you ask
any webmaster of TCG we ALWAYS
make good on down time or errors
so rest assured you WILL get paid
for normal sales yesterday.

BTW I hate damn holidays for this
exact reason. Next year we will be
working the day after turkey day.

Thanks
