Photoshop question

Hey guys, i need to do a batch job of an action task in photoshop...

Basically i created an "action".

I want to batch proccess it 1000 times, and save each image as a different filename each time. So its like, 1.jpg, 2.jpg, etc.

The action was recorded like, Record > New File > Image Size > Paste > Save > Done.

How do i get this going, and get it to repeat this 1000 times?

Thanks for all your help!!!

Are you trying to make 1000 identical files?

Not sure that I fully understand what you are trying to do here so it's a bit hard to give you a good answer.

I don't pretend to be a photoshop pro by any stretch of the imagination...But I have never heard of this feature. I've never been terribly happy with any of the outputs from photoshop's batch features. This is why I use a stand alone batch program.

I seem to remember someone posting on how to do it once, I never could get it to work even with their isntructions. I had to still manually save each file.\

However if I just plop in a full directory of images and set an action for cropping, resizing, color balance etc then save for web, save the file, then clsoe the file then stop the action I can get each file to do it's thing and save no problem with the click of one button per image.

if they're all the same image.
Save one.
Got to explorer, copy paste it a few times. Select all, copy paste a few times, till you have 1000.
Use a mass rename program. (renamemaster)
if you need to manip. the images (Arles)

For mass renaming I use NameWiz, pretty nice piece of software.

Oh, but I still would like to know too how to process an entire directory with an action, it might be helpful while treating my thumbs (for now I do it manually, like F3 for each image).

Each image has something added to it...

Ie. Motion blur 1, Motion blur 2, Motion blur 3

etc.

so it doubles up each time, each image is unique

anyone?

On the bottom of the batch option window there are several drop down boxes for renaming in succession (i.e. 1.jpg, 2.jpg, 3.jpg).

Batchit Pro by Atalasoft.

Runs all sorts of batch option in what ever order you like..Renames bla bla bla.

Run it once...Not through multiple programs multiple times.

Very simple to use.

"The action was recorded like, Record > New File > Image Size > Paste > Save > Done."

So what's this about "New File" etc...?

You're not looking for a new file to be created from scratch...You are looking for a new file to be created from an existing file.

Different question altogether.

They have to be named what you want. When I do them, they are already named 1, 2, 3, etc. Then I have to convert them from TIFF to JPG. So..

I go to actions, create a new one and name it. Which then started the record (red dot). Then you go find, and open you file, save as... (same name, but use pull down and pick JPG), then save, and close. Then click stop on the actions menu.

Next, go to file menu, automate, and select batch comand then when window pops up, pick the correct directory. Usually the same (you will have 1.TFF, and 1.JPG when done). Then select the 'save and close' from drop down, and the check 'override open batch' blah blah. Click ok.

Then click play or start on actions menu.

A bunch of screen pops for a while, then you are done.

To clean up your mess, in FTP (or whatever) click on 'file type' so they sort, and delete the slop you no longer want (TiFF, Bitmap, etc, etc).
